There’s Gonna Be a New Alien Movie, Obviously
Like sands in an hourglass, so goes Hollywood. We’re gonna have another Alien movie, because obviously. That’s what happens. Will it be as new and unique as Prey was to the Predator franchise? Probably not. But it will be named Alien: Romulus for some reason.
I hope this means the sequel will be called Alien: Remus.
I’m not big fan of the Alien franchise. I’m just not a fan of horror films in general. But this seems to be a big deal, and maybe people haven’t seen this trailer yet, so I’m sharing. I like to share movie trailers. And later today, there’s gonna be the full trailer for the upcoming Ninja Turtles cartoon based on Mutant Mayhem. I’m rather excited about that trailer!
But for now, know that Alien: Romulus will come to theaters Aug. 16.

6 Cartoon Reboots Where I Want to See the Children As Adults
Legacy sequels are all the rage these days, especially in the movies. I’m lukewarm on this sort of thing, but there was a unique idea floating through some of these sequels that got me thinking: a legacy sequel where the child characters are all grown up! Now that I’d like to see…in some occasions.
This idea found its way into my brain when I read about the new King of the Hill legacy sequel coming out one of these days. Rather than just bring back the show as-is, the new reboot is indeed going to jump ahead to the present day as if the characters aged in real time. So Bobby Hill, in all his childhood glory, is going to be an adult man in the new series. He’s going to have a job. Maybe a family? I don’t want to spoil anything that I read, but it did give me the idea for this List of Six.
So join me after the jump for six shows/movies that starred child characters, and now they’re rebooted into grown ups for continuing adventures. And all of my ideas were for cartoons, so let’s stick to that for now. And feel free to share some of your own in the comments below!
Read the rest of this entrySurprise Venom 3 Trailer!
I didn’t know we were getting a Venom 3 trailer today! How exciting! I think I’m OK with the Venom movies? They’re not good movies, but the Venom/Eddie Brock dynamic more than makes up for any other shortfalls. And that’s entertaining enough. And they’re clearly leaning into all of that in the first trailer for Venom 3: The Last Dance.
Looks generic and exciting! The only thing I really want from this movie is for Juno Temple to become Scream, my favorite symbiote. There seem to be a couple of symbiotes floating in the science lab, but we don’t get a tease that any of them take over either her or Chiwetel Ejiofor, though it could happen! He could become Lasher or Phage. Venom and Eddie could lead a whole team of human/symbiote teams to take on this new threat from his homeworld!
But, again, that’s just wishful thinking that Juno Temple plays my favorite symbiote!
Venom: The Last Dance comes to theaters on Oct. 25.

Cool Tomb Raider Anime On the Way
Hollywood has been trying to make Tomb Raider a thing for a long time now. I’m not the biggest Tomb Raider fan in the world. I barely ever played those original games, and only played two of three of the modern reboot. I’m not sure why I didn’t play through that last one even though I very much enjoyed the first two…
Anyway, the people who brought the truly awesome Castlevania cartoon are now making a Tomb Raider one!
I loved that Castlevania show. And while Tomb Raider is not on my List of Six of other games that could use a cool, R-rated cartoon, it’s still a solid option. Everybody loves Lara Croft and all sorts of cartoon magic could happen if you put your mind to it, things that the most recent movie reboot couldn’t get right for whatever reason.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is coming to Netflix on Oct. 10.

The Only Thing I’m Apparently Posting This Week is Trailers for The Bear
I didn’t plan it this way. I’ve given myself permission to not have to post something every single day, and I enjoy that freedom. But I still want to share trailers for stuff I like, and any other random stuff I find and want to share. But I didn’t have a List of Six for this week, and don’t really have any comics to review this week. And, well…the only trailers I’m finding to share this week are a teaser for the third season of The Bear, and now a full trailer for the third season of The Bear.
Don’t watch this trailer if you’re not fully caught up on The Bear.
Sure looks like another season of The Bear! Like I mentioned the other day, it’s an amazing show that easily lives up to all the hype it has accrued. I’m confident season 3 will be super fun.
Maybe Friday will bring yet another trailer for The Bear?! Anything could happen this week.
The Bear returns to Hulu on June 27.
