Ms. Marvel Fan Film Makes for Exciting Monday
Found this pretty stellar Ms. Marvel fan film on io9 this weekend and wanted to share! I don’t share enough fan-made things and I’m hoping to fix that. So let’s start with this! It’s only 5 minutes long and damn good.
And let’s hope Marvel gets around to putting Kamala Khan into their movies or TV shows very soon. Major kudos to the folks at AnitaBeMEAnitaBeME for making this awesomeness happen. They nailed it!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 3/18/17
It’s Iron Fist weekend! Unfortunately, I don’t think Marvel released their new Iron Fist comic yet, so I don’t get that special sort of synergy. But while you’re reading these reviews, you best believe I’m binging some quality Netflix Defenders.
Fortunately, this week had some spectacular comics regardless, with new issues of Ms. Marvel, Harley Quinn, Hellcat and The Wild Storm! I also tried out the first issue of the new Batwoman series, and I’m considering getting back into Amazing Spider-Man!
Comic Book of the Week goes to the latest issue of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which is telling some pretty stellar stories! Let us hope that next week’s movie can live up to the quality of the comic.
Meanwhile, I’ve been catching up on Tom King’s Batman, and it seems like I gave up on that series too soon. After the opening story, which I just didn’t like, King has been doing some amazing work with Bane, Catwoman, the Ventriloquist and more! I might have to add that back to my review pile.
Comic Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man #25, Batwoman #1, Harley Quinn #16, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #13, Ms. Marvel #16, Patsy Walker a.k.a. Hellcat #16 and The Wild Storm #2.
New Transformers Trailer Brings the Weird
I have no idea what’s going on in the new trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight. I think…the world has come to an end? It’s like a robot post-apocalypse.
I’m pleased to see that John Goodman’s Transformer is coming back. I’ve always been a little disappointed that most of the supporting robots get killed off quickly or disappear between movies. What’s the point of making these films if you can’t keep the recognizable robots? It can’t just be Bumblebee and Optimus Prime!
Also, am I the only person in the world who wants to see Shia Labeouf and/or Megan Fox to return? I want to see a connected Transformers movieverse.
Double also, I’m a little scared of how they’re going to sexualize this new little girl character. What strange, obscure sex laws are they going to pull out of their pockets this time?

I Can Predict the Future; Doctor Octopus Gets an Upgrade
A few months ago, when The Clone Conspiracy started, I wrote an article proclaiming my belief that Doctor Octopus should be given a new, sexier appearance. He was being cloned, after all, so why clone him in that old, fat body from back in the day?

Even the bowl cut was cloned!
Use the power of cloning to make an awesome, buffer Doc Ock!
Well, it looks like I can predict the future, because now Doctor Octopus looks awesome! Clone Conspiracy came to an end, but Doc Ock lives on as something even cooler.
I’ll save SPOILERS for after the jump! Join me and check out the badass new Otto Octavius!
My 6 Favorite Lores
I am a member of several prominent fandoms. I love me some geeky TV shows, movies, video games, comics and more. And like any good geek, I can get super into the lore and backstories of these franchises. Got a wiki wormhole with dozens of pages devoted to the secret connections of several minor supporting characters? I’m in! I love a good lore.
Don’t understand what I’m talking about? Comedian Patton Oswalt explains it pretty well in this stand-up clip. Lore is not just the main story, but all the deeper histories behind the characters and settings. Lore isn’t just Frodo and the One Ring, it’s everyone who came before and everything in the Simariliion. Lore isn’t just Tyrion, Daenerys and John Snow playing the Game of Thrones, it’s the history of the Night’s Watch, Bran the Builder, Robert’s Rebellion, The Tales of Dunk and Egg and more. Game of Thrones has great lore.
And now I’m going to share my favorite lores with you! I’ve loved a few over the years, ignored others. Feel free to share your own favorites in the comments!
