Speaking of Fun Trailers, Here’s One About Vampires!

This trailer came out a couple weeks ago and I was sitting on it until I needed something for a random Tuesday! Those random Tuesdays will surprise you. It’s the first trailer for the TV show version of What We Do In The Shadows! Looks hilarious!

The movie is great. It’s one of Taika Waititi’s films before he made Thor: Ragnarok and became a proper superstar. I recommend the film, and I can’t wait for the TV show!

A Couple Fun Movie Trailers!

I’m a big movie buff. And while I’m the sort of sucker that loves every single Marvel movie, I also like smaller independent stuff. As such, I came across a couple trailers for smaller independent stuff this weekend and thought I’d share.

First up is Yesterday, with a truly phenomenal premise. I won’t spoil it for you. Just watch the trailer!

I can’t wait to see that one! Looks marvelous!

Next up is Long Shot, starring Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen. It looks neat!

Yesterday comes out on June 28 and Long Shot comes out on May 3. Hopefully they’ll be playing in theaters near me because I’d like to give them a watch. And hopefully, now, you do too!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 2/16/19

These are the best comic book weeks! Sometimes I’ll get a couple of comics on my Buy Pile to pick through, see what I like or don’t like. But weeks like this one was stuffed with my favorite comics! We’ve got Runaways, we’ve got Mr. & Mrs. X, we’ve got Go Go Power Rangers! It’s like I’m being spoiled!

We’ve also got G. Willow Wilson’s final issue of Ms. Marvel, a bittersweet but otherwise wonderful moment! I wanted to give it Comic Book of the Week to mark the occasion, but it had to go up against the first issue of Mark Russell’s Wonder Twins comic. I can now die a happy man for having read Wonder Twins #1.

That’s not to say Wilson’s final Ms. Marvel isn’t fun! Read that too!

Comic Book Reviews: Captain Marvel #2, Go Go Power Rangers #17, Mr. & Mrs. X #8, Ms. Marvel #38, Runaways #18, Wonder Twins #1 and Wonder Woman #64.

Doom Patrol Starts Today!

As I mentioned earlier this week, I very much enjoyed the Titans TV show on the DC streaming service. And the new Doom Patrol spin-off is getting a lot of good buzz! They starred in a very fine episode of Titans, so I’m hoping for good things from Doom Patrol.

Though watching that trailer, I was suddenly very aware of how many superhero shows exist now. It’s kind of crazy, right? Especially in how many live action superhero shows exist where the team aren’t really traditional superheroes. Titans, Runaways, now Doom Patrol. Has anybody seen Cloak and Dagger? Should I watch that?

Gamer Girl & Vixen is Coming Back!

Great news, everybody! Gamer Girl & Vixen is back on track! There’s going to be more comics! My team and I had a pretty rough year since my last update, and making comics had to be pushed to the back burner. But over the past few months, we’ve settled into the work, added some new people and there’s going to be new Gamer Girl & Vixen!

Making comics is my dream and I couldn’t be happier with what we’re making. We might not be setting the world on fire just yet, but I’m still so excited for our project. Over the year ahead, we’re going to be working on the Gamer Girl & Vixen sequel!

First and foremost, I need to introduce our project’s new artist, Andrea Rosales! Our first artist opted out of Volume 2. I wish her all the best. Andrea was recommended to us and she’s taken quite well to the GG&V character designs.

We’ve also added Jamieson Alcorn as an editor to help us tighten up the script on Volume 2 and keep the whole project under control. And Taylor Esposito will be returning to do our lettering.

My writing partner, Kristi McDowell, and I have finished the first draft of the full script of Volume 2. The plan is to go right into another full graphic novel instead of individual issues. A full tpb will be easier to keep for posterity, and it’ll just be easier to bind our whole ongoing story together.

So stay tuned to my blog going forward. I’ll hopefully have a ton of new information and artwork and pages to share as we get back to work making fun comics!
