I Don’t Know If I’ll Be Able to Play Gotham Knights

I am very much looking forward to the upcoming video game, Gotham Knights. An Arkham-style game where you play as all the Robins? Especially the Tim Drake Robin? Sign me the heck up! And the game looks great! We just got this new Villains trailer this week.

The problem is, I don’t own a Playstation 5, and my gaming PC is pretty old at this point. So I just don’t know if I’ll be able to play and enjoy this game when it comes out. Will the world suddenly shift and PS5s will become available? I doubt it. Am I going to spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade my PC just for this one game? Hells nah. So I guess all I can do is watch and enjoy these little trailers…

Gotham Knights comes out on Oct. 25.

6 Things in Movies and TV That Don’t Bug Me

Watch out, people, I have opinions on the internet. It would just be safer if you backed the heck up and didn’t come near me as I express these opinions in this carefully cultivated listicle on my personal corner of the information superhighway. Chief among those opinions is that I really, really enjoyed the first episode of the new She-Hulk: Attorney at Law show on Disney+.

Cheerio

The internet’s response to the She-Hulk show is what has prompted this list, though not every entry is going to relate back to the new MCU comedy. I’ve just seen too many complaints — as well as too many clapbacks against those complaints — and I’ve decided to express my frustrations through blogging. I have scoured my own headspace and found a bunch of things in movies and TV that seem to really rile people up, but which have zero effect on me.

Join me after the jump as I whine and whinge about dumb things other people complain about on the internet.

The Rings of Power Continues to Look Impressive, At Least

I have not yet watched the first episode of the new Game of Thrones show on HBO Max. I have zero interest in this high budget prequel series to an existing prestige TV show. Likewise, I have zero interest in the high budget prequel series to an existing prestige series of movies. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power looks impressive, but man, I just don’t care.

So because of a licensing conundrum, Amazon is gonna try to cobble together a show based on Lord of the Rings appendixes? Bwuh? Galadriel is gonna get up to some fightin’ in the long past with no discernable storyline? I just don’t care. But, you know, I’ll probably watch the show eventually. It’s what I do. I watch things.

The Rings of Power comes out on Sept. 2.

I Think I’ll Saints Row This Week

We’re still in the dull days of summer with not much going on. So hopefully the release of the new Saints Row reboot will give me something to occupy my time. I just need something to occupy my precious time!

I’ve got to download the Epic Game Store to buy this game. And hopefully I’ll be able to play co-op with some friends. And hopefully it’ll be a fun and fulfilling reboot. I’ve enjoyed most of the Saints Row games in the past. But we’ll see. I’ll keep my hopes up and we’ll see!

Saints Row comes out on Tuesday.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 8/20/22

Quiet week in comics for me because I’m avoiding the major summer events from Marvel and DC. I really should use this time to branch out into more independent comics…but I’m a lazy, lazy man, my good readers. At least we got a new issue of Nightwing.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Dark Spaces: Wildfire #2 for an excellent continuation of this random new series. So I do read some independent comics!

Crypto bros are out of control

Meanwhile, I loved the first issue of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and I’m definitely looking forward to more! Should be a great show! I also loved Prey and enjoyed Day Shift, though there were plenty of plotholes in the latter. And in the week ahead, I’m looking forward to the new Saint’s Row revival. So plenty going on!

Comic Reviews: Dark Spaces: Wildfire #2 and Nightwing #95.
