Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/22/22

Comics, we’ve got comics! New comics! Returning comics! We’ve got everything you could want. From X-Men to the start of GCPD: The Blue Wall. Is it the next incarnation of Gotham Central? Let’s hope so!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Nightwing #97 because it’s just another wonderful caper of an adventure.

Renee Montoya is the surprise star this week

Meanwhile, I just finished The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and I loved it! Fun show, fun use of the material, and a really cool ending. I haven’t seen Black Adam yet, but I will this afternoon. So check back on Wednesday for my thoughts and review on Black Adam.

Comic Reviews: GCPD: The Blue Wall #1, Nightwing #97 and X-Men #16.

Creed III Looks Neat

I didn’t even know they were making another Creed movie. I liked the first two, so I guess why not make a third? And this one is going to be directed by Michael B. Jordan, so that’s fun for him. And it stars a badass Jonathan Majors, so perhaps we’ll get a glimpse of what his Kang the Conqueror will be like?

I dunno. It just looks…like not much? Like just another episode of the Creed TV show. It goes this whole trailer setting up this rivalry between the two characters, and how much you want to bet that rivalry ends with a boxing match? So be it.

Besides, nobody is old enough yet to come back and make the Drago movie series. Gotta wait until Jordan is an old man so that he can come back and mentor Ivan Drago’s grandson. Then the circle will be complete.

6 Thoughts on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

I have a new favorite! She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has been getting a lot of flack for reasons that make no sense to me. This show was everything it said it would be and more, and everything I wanted it to be. Funny, charming, full of personality and perfectly built around a very fun main character. I want to see Tatiana Maslany and Jennifer Walters everywhere now.

TV Show Rating: 10/10 – Fantastic

Once upon a time, I didn’t think She-Hulk would work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I didn’t think the MCU Hulk could translate into a She-Hulk movie. Thankfully, the world changed and the Disney+ TV shows changed everything. The creative team behind She-Hulk: Attorney at Law used the TV format to perfection to bring this character and her unique perspective to life. I want production to start immediately on season 2!

Join me after the jump for my full thoughts and review of the first season of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Expect FULL SPOILERS. And feel free to share your own thoughts in the comments!

There Will Be a New Multiple Man Action Figure!

Once upon a time, we lived in a world where there were no action figures of my favorite superhero, Multiple Man. It made no sense. His super power is to make multiple copies of himself. That automatically means a person should buy multiple action figures! It makes so much sense! I wrote about this year ago, when we didn’t have such action figures.

Since then, we got a sweet Marvel Legends Multiple Man figure. And it looks like we’re getting another one, based on his original comic book costume!

He always looks angry in these figures

It’s part of a classics line, packaged in old timey action figure packaging. That’s pretty neat. I used to buy X-Men action figures when they were packaged like that, and I would have loved to have a Multiple Man figure back then. I guess I’ll just have to settle for this one now.

The new figure goes on sale in April, I believe. Here’s hoping I can get a couple for my shelf!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/15/22

Comics! We’ve got comics! And I’ve got reviews of those comics, because why not? My thoughts and opinions are valid! And hopefully nobody is being forced at gunpoint to read my thoughts on the likes of Dark Spaces: Wildfire and Amazing Spider-Man.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Batman Incorporated #1 for a fun kick-off to a new series focusing on a bunch of really interesting characters. I regret not reading that recent comic starring the Knight and Squire.

It’s tough being a superhero

Meanwhile, I am still buzzing from the season finale of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law! That episode was insane in all of the best ways, and is quite possibly my new favorite thing of all time from the MCU. Once the recency bias wears off, it’s still going to be very high on my list. Come back on Wednesday for my full review/thoughts on the She-Hulk show!

Comic Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man #11, Batman Incorporated #1, Dark Spaces: Wildfire #4 and Jurassic League #6.
