Multiple Man Did Not Really Return…Yet
Awhile ago, we were teased that Multiple Man would return in the pages of Astonishing X-Men #2. I was foolish enough to get my hopes up. The way Astonishing X-Men was being talked up as a big, important book made me think that anything was possible! Why not bring Multiple Man back from the dead after only a year or so? It would be fun!
But nope, he’s not really back.
He got a costume change after dying
Sorry to burst everybody’s bubble, but the Multiple Man that appears at the very beginning of Astonishing X-Men #2 is just an illusion created by the Shadow King after the X-Men travel to the Astral Plane.
He plays the chorus in a stage play about the X-Men that the Shadow King is putting on.
He did the thing he’s known for!
That’s about it.
So he’s not back from the dead. Though Rogue does drop a possible hint that there’s still hope.
Don’t give me hope, Rogue
I think I’m going to hold on to that hope. Just for a little while.

Deadpool 2 and Cable, Too!
Not too long after we got our first looks at Domino for the upcoming Deadpool sequel, but here’s actor Josh Brolin as Cable! Quite fancy!
And here he is again!
Looks fine to me! Not sure how Cable is going to fit into the Deadpool movie, but then I suppose people have been wondering that about Cable and Deadpool comics for years! I’m sure they’ll make it pretty awesome.

Some Awesome Guy Drew Every Single Character Who Ever Appeared in Uncanny X-Men!
Want to see something awesome? Then check out the artwork of Unnecessarily X-essive! Artist Scott Modrzynski has apparently spent the past few years drawing every single character and alternate costume that ever appeared in the multi-decade Uncanny X-Men. And I do mean every character. Even background characters.
Here are some of my favorites:
This is a masterpiece of Internet X-Menery. Somebody buy this guy a drink or tell him to start working on the Avengers!

Movie Domino Looks Great!
Domino is going to show up in Deadpool 2, and we’ve got our first look at actor Zazie Beetz in the role!
Nice Deadpool-skin rug
Looks pretty perfect to me! That’s about as perfect a movie Deadpool as I could imagine. Hopefully soon we’ll get to see Cable, too!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/29/17
Light week this week, for no good reason. I guess I just didn’t read enough comics I liked enough to review! But we’ve got solid and exciting issues of Iceman, Detective Comics and Infamous Iron Man, so that’s good enough for me.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Batgirl #13, as Hope Larson delivers possibly my favorite issue yet of her Batgirl run! She’s definitely having fun with this comic, and it shows!
Batgirl tries on a sidekick for size
Secret Empire has reached a grinding section. There are bits and pieces here and there that get exciting, like the final page cliffhanger of the new issue, but overall, I think the scope of this story is just a little too big. It feels like I’m reading a big What If…? comic instead of an actual, in-continuity story about these characters.
Comic Reviews: Batgirl #13, Detective Comics #961, Iceman #3 and Infamous Iron Man #10.
