Ant-Man’s First Interaction with the MCU…in a Coke Commercial

I didn’t watch the Super Bowl, I didn’t see any of the commercials in real time. But it doesn’t matter, because this Coca Cola/Marvel commercial would have won hands down.

Ant-Man’s first interaction with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in a Coke commercial. This is not a criticism. We live in a world where Ant-Man and the Hulk can appear in full live action, with amazing special effects, in a TV commercial. They are part of the mainstream. This is normal, and it’s awesome.

Ant-Man and the freakin’ Hulk!

It’s Happening! Flash and Supergirl Will Crossover!

Announced today by all parties involved, The Flash TV show will crossover in March with the Supergirl TV show, even though they’re on different networks. Fortunately, they’re both executive produced by the same guys, Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, and they somehow made this happen! Seeing as how the Arrow/Flash crossovers have been ratings bonanzas, the people at CBS were apparently willing to play ball.

This is great news!

Who knows what this will mean for continuity, but who the heck cares? We can iron out those details later! All that matters is that nerd love and general world awesomeness made this happen, and we’ll get to see more crossovers! I love these things. All the Arrow/Flash crossovers have been great. And there’s going to be legit excitement to see Supergirl meet the Flash. It’s that palpable, geeky energy that made The Avengers movie so much fun.

See, universe? We can have nice things.

Though now I’m going to have to go back and catch up on Supergirl

The Flash’s Secret, Illegal Prison Has Gone Too Far

I don’t talk much about TV shows while they’re in progress, usually saving that for some end-of-season wrap-ups. But after the last two episodes of The Flash, I can’t stay silent any longer! The Flash and his allies, the supposed heroes of the show, are keeping a secret, illegal prison in their basement and holding multiple American citizens against their will with no due process at all.

The Flash likes to gloat

This is nothing new. This has been the status quo since early in Season 1, when they captured their first metahuman and didn’t know what else to do with him. They panicked, came up with this prison idea, and have just been rolling with it. That’s bad enough.

But now they’ve gone too far. Join me after the jump! SPOILERS for the last few episodes of The Flash.

We’re Getting a New Justice League Cartoon!

The first poster for the new cartoon — Justice League Action — has arrived and been confirmed by Cartoon Network! The new show will be all about action, and will air in 11-minute segments — kind of like Teen Titans Go! .

Justice League Action 01

We do know that Kevin Conroy will be back as Batman, and Mark Hamill will be back as the Joker, so those are pretty cool. And Deidrich Bader, who I will always know best as Oswald from The Drew Carey Show, will be Booster Gold. So we know there will be a rotating cast of heroes, as you can see in the background of the poster there.

No premiere date has been announced or anything else, really. I suppose that’ll be coming. Who’s excited? Who’s dreading a JL version of Teen Titans Go!?

Oh Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., You Try, You Really Do

I mostly enjoy Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It’s a fine enough show, providing a bit of entertainment throughout my week. But oh man is it trying so hard. Right, Honest Trailers?

They got zinged hard! The Screen Junkies are usually always on point. I’m probably gonna keep watching though. Gotta hold out hope for that Ant-Man cameo…
