Daredevil is Almost Back, Baby!

It’s barely been a month since the last season of Iron Fist ended, and the new season of Daredevil is soon upon us! Looking back at the Netflix Defenders as a whole, I think the Daredevil seasons have been my favorite, so I’m very excited! Especially since Wilson Fisk is the villain again!

And it has been confirmed that the other villain in that trailer is Bullseye! So cool beans there! Hopefully he gets his own costume by the end.

Daredevil season 3 arrives on Netflix on Oct. 19.

New Trailers for Teen Superhero TV Shows!

For reasons I will never fully understand, today we got two competing trailers for upcoming Teen Superhero TV shows, specifically Titans from DC and Runaways from Marvel!

First up is a new, extended look at Titans! I think it still looks pretty bad, though I’m going to keep an open mind, because we appear to have a legitimately cool, fleshed out, live action Robin story. Those come around once a generation.

Everybody else in the trailer looks really bad. I’m trying to keep an open mind about Starfire, but man she looks weird. And Beast Boy’s transformations are definitely straining everything about this show’s SFX budget.

Then we’ve got season 2 of Runaways, which doesn’t really show much. I enjoyed the first season well enough and am generally excited for more!

The current Runaways comic, from Rainbow Rowell and Kris Anka, is currently amazing. If the show is half that good, we’re in for a treat.

6 Characters I Want to See on DuckTales

The first season of the new DuckTales cartoon has come and gone, but that’s not going to stop me from wildly speculating and gesticulating about what I want to happen next. I’ve been pretty vocal about my hopes and dreams for the Expanded Disney Cartoon Universe. With today’s List of Six, I’m going to solidify those hopes and dreams even more!

Ducktales Character List 01

Season 2 premieres Oct. 20!

The first season of the new DuckTales was chockfull of cameo characters. We had Gladstone Gander, Doofus Drake, Goldie O’Gilt and more classic characters getting new, rebooted appearances. As a fan of classic Disney and duck-related cartoons, this was a real treat…and there are so many more options for season 2!

Join me after the jump for the classic Disney and DuckTales characters I want to see in future seasons of the new show! And share your own hopes and dreams in the comments!

New Doctor Who Trailer is Glorious!

As you’ll see when you watch the trailer, I went for the easy pun there. I’m very excited for the new season of Doctor Who, and Jodie Whittaker in the lead role. The new trailer gives us a fairly good taste of what she’s going to be like as the Doctor.

I like the adventurous feeling of the trailer. The grouchy Peter Capaldi Doctor is gone (and I loved him!). Now we have a younger, more jovial, more adventurous Doctor! And I rather like the idea that she has three companions. I’m curious to see how the four of them come to traveling together. Taking one young sidekick on their adventure of their lives is one thing. How does the Doctor end up with three traveling companions longterm?

We’ll find out starting Oct. 7!

6 Thoughts on the Second Season of Iron Fist

And just like that, Iron Fist totally redeems itself! I loved the second season of Iron Fist! I haven’t been this excited about Marvel’s Netflix Defenders in what feels like a long time. The action was thrilling, the pacing was solid and the characters were full of life and good development. This was a very exciting season of television.

Iron Fist Season 2 Review 01

TV Show Rating: 9/10 – Great.

I did not dislike the first season of Iron Fist like most people. I didn’t love it, but I also didn’t hate it. I was largely just fine with it. But I’m very pleased to say that Marvel and Netflix took all of our criticisms to heart, brought in a new showrunner and set about fixing Iron Fist‘s problems. I would have to say that they largely succeed across the board!

First and foremost, the fights are much better choreographed and more fun to watch! This is a show about mystical martial arts, so the martial arts action should be the most important part of the darn show. Iron Fist season 2 makes that happen and is therefore better for it.

Join me after the jump for all my thoughts on the second season of Iron Fist! Expect FULL SPOILERS for the entire season.
