6 Thoughts on The Suicide Squad (Review)
The long wait is over and The Suicide Squad has arrived. Not to be confused with Suicide Squad from a couple of years ago. This is a sequel/relaunch and obviously much, much better. James Gunn wrote and directed this new film, and I’m as big a James Gunn fan as everybody else. So I had high hopes for this film and all of them were met and/or exceeded!
Movie Rating: 9/10 – Great.
Take a bunch of unimportant C and D-list supervillains from the annals of DC Comics and put them on a team of black ops specialists is a great idea. They’ve been making fun Suicide Squad comics for years. The team has shown up in the DC cartoons and the DC live action shows. They’re a pretty impressive crew. So it’s a shame that The Suicide Squad has bombed at the box office. We’re definitely never getting a sequel now. C’est la vie.
Join me after the jump for my thoughts/review of The Suicide Squad. And expect FULL SPOILERS for the movie.

I’m feeling pretty lazy on this random Thursday. Got a lot to do today for work and not much else to talk about for blog. So how about some Honest Trailers to randomly watch while the world passes us by?
Like the Honest Trailer for Black Widow.
Or the Honest Trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy.
Such is the world we are living in that such idle joys are available to watch. They almost seem quaint at this point. I’m pretty sure everybody’s moved over to Pitch Meeting anyway.

6 Things I Want to See in Venom: Let There Be Carnage
The first full trailer for Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage graced our internet this week and I thought it looked pretty neat. I wasn’t too impressed with the first Venom film, but I liked it well enough. And me being a sucker for superhero stuff, I’m definitely going to see the sequel whenever it makes it to theaters.
As with most superhero movies, I do have a list of things I’m hoping to see in the film. Is it a reasonable list? Probably not. Are any of my demands going to come true? Maybe? It’s fun to speculate and hope nonetheless. Like, I hope this movie actually comes out on the scheduled release date at the end of September. I hope the resurgence of the coronavirus doesn’t close down movie theaters again. But mostly my hopes are nerdy comic book related, so let’s focus on those after the jump!

It’s an idle Tuesday with not a lot going on for me to post about. Granted, I’m sure I could do some digging and find something to write about. But instead I’m just going to share some fun Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings videos from last week! Like a new quickie trailer.
And a featurette that just explores the movie a bit more.
Still very excited about this movie. Still very worried that the resurgence of the virus might ruin everything. We shall see! But Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings comes out on Sept. 3. It’s only a month away!

Carnage is Everywhere in New Venom Sequel Trailer
I did not know this was coming today, but here it is! A new, fuller trailer for Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage! And this thing is chockablock full of Carnage everywhere!
Man, oh man! Would you look at that! They’re going full Carnage, it seems. He’s got the look, he’s got the viciousness. This is apparently what moviegoers want to see! I’m cool with it too, though I’m still salty that they didn’t use Jenny Slate as Scream in the first Venom movie. That would have been so much better!
I liked the first Venom movie well enough. It was a crap movie, but the Venom/Eddie Brock stuff was fun, and that looks to continue for the sequel. So we’ll see.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is scheduled to come out on Sept. 24…but you’ll notice that neither the trailer nor the description have that date attached. Considering COVID is on the rise again, I wouldn’t be surprised if this film gets bumped back.
