A Haunting in Venice, You Say?
I’ve enjoyed the recent Poirot mystery movies as much as the next person. Murder on the Orient Express was really fun. Death on the Nile was fine. And next we’ll be getting A Haunting in Venice, with Kenneth Branagh returning as both director and star.
Poiroit vs. the supernatural? Sounds good to me! I’m sure this will be another perfectly entertaining murder mystery movie. It’s no Knives Out, but what is these days? A Haunting in Venice should be nicely watchable.
It comes to theaters on Sept. 15.

The Live Action, Comic Accurate Wolverine Movie Costume is Real
Yesterday, we got our first real, official look at the Wolverine costume Hugh Jackman will be wearing in Deadpool 3. Production has wrapped on the movie, and it’s due out in the somewhat near future. And lordy me, this costume is gorgeous.
For the first time in the live action movies, the first time with Hugh Jackman in the role, Wolverine will finally be wearing a comics-accurate costume. It’s yellow and blue, it’s got all the right bells and whistles. This thing is phenomenal! Can’t wait to see it in action. Live action, that is!

Killers of the Flower Moon Sure Looks Fancy
Director Martin Scorsese is once again unleashed on the freedom of streaming services with his new film, Killers of the Flower Moon. It’s gonna be a big, long, dramatic period piece about the Osage Nation, their oil wealth and the white bastards who came to steal it and kill for it. Should be cool.
I enjoyed his last big streaming movie, The Irishman, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy this one. I’m no film snob. I’m not about to rant and rave about Martin Scorsese (not like I would Wes Anderson, oh man!). But he makes good movies, has some great actors and I’m sure this one will be a wild, fancy ride.
Killers of the Flower Moon is coming to theaters in October, and eventually to AppleTV+.

6 Things I Want to See in Superman: Legacy
The world of comic book movie discussions is on fire with all the updates we get from James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy. It’s maddening. Though it’s self-inflicted. If I just stopped visiting comic book movie news sites, I wouldn’t be so inundated. But those same news sites are what told me that David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan had been cast as Superman and Lois Lane, respectively.
That’s neat. I don’t know anything about Corenswet and don’t know if I’ve seen him in anything, whereas I love Brosnahan in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and was hoping she’d get the part. She should be great! And I trust writer/director James Gunn in casting Corenswet. I’m sure he’ll be great. So what do I want from a new Superman movie? The Christopher Reeves movies were before my time and I have no real thoughts on them. I don’t care for Superman Returns. And I don’t care for Man of Steel. So what do I actually want?
Join me after the jump for six things I want to see in Superman: Legacy. And feel free to share your own hopes and dreams in the comments below.
