The New Ghostbusters Are Who We’re Gonna Call
The first trailer for the new Ghostbusters movie hit yesterday, and like a sucker, I didn’t post it until this morning. It’s been a busy week at work. That’s my only excuse. Because it’s a pretty nifty trailer.
I am down to clown with this new movie. It looks cool, seems pretty funny, I like all the new actors; this is one I’m definitely looking forward to. And we’re all just going to have to hope that they don’t mess it up. But then I’m both a fan of Ghostbusters 2 and The Real Ghostbusters cartoon, so who am I to judge?

Movie Criticism is Better Than Politics
It’s Super Tuesday, and that means a whole heck of a lot in the world of American politics. I would rather no deal with that insanity, so instead, let’s poke fun at Monsters University! I mean, what the heck was up with Monsters University?
Seriously, let’s not worry about politics today. If anything, you should go watch John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight. That’s all the politics any of us will ever need. Even if Cinema Sins is pretty good too. They really delved into this one.
You know what my biggest complaint is about Monsters University? It’s that all of the monsters look the same. Other than Mike, Sully and the main characters, all the background monsters are the same kind of rainbow furry and generic. It’s kind of disheartening.

6 Things I Want From Star Wars Episode VIII
Hey, did you hear they’re making a new Star Wars movie? Fancy that. Production is already underway, so consider the hype train for Episode VIII in full locomotion. I’m as excited as the next fan. Heck, I’m even excited for Rogue One! I still have no idea how that movie’s going to work.

We’re gonna need a good name for this one
When The Force Awakens was first announced way back in 2013, I wrote a similar list…and got maybe two of the things I asked for. But back then, we had no idea what to expect. Now we know the story, the characters, the concepts, and I have some new ideas in mind. New hopes and dreams that will, in all likelihood, still be dashed upon the snow like an overworked tauntaun.
But hope springs eternal! so join me after the jump for six things I want to see in Star Wars: Episode VIII! And be warned, there will be SPOILERS for The Force Awakens, just in case you haven’t seen it yet.

That’s some good, quality teasing. And I loved the very ending, with Finn and Poe. That’s good stuff! HISHE was on point this time around.

Review: Deadpool
They did it! They pulled it off! And with flying funny colors, no less! A comics and character-accurate Deadpool movie seemed like it had about as much chance of happening as that Lobo movie DC is always talking about. Like a pipe dream clogged with used toilet paper. But don’t that beat all, actor Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller apparently wield a golden plunger.
Deadpool is a hilarious, action-packed thrill ride, bathed in that sticky, zany funk that makes Deadpool so special in the first place.
Movie Rating: 9/10 – Great
The Deadpool film is everything someone could want from a Deadpool film. This movie is so character accurate that it almost defies logic. Considering the character’s extreme misuse in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (which gets mocked in this movie), it was nigh impossible to believe anyone at FOX Studios would make this new film happen. It was hard to believe anyone at FOX Studios even knew what Deadpool was about. But after Reynolds championed the character and the movie for so long, and after some footage was ‘leaked’ a year or two ago, someone got the wheels turning and we’ve now got a great movie.
Deadpool is a ton of fun. It’s got the exciting, hard-hitting action of recent blockbusters, as well as the snappy wit we’ve come to expect from superhero movies, but all of it is just so ‘Deadpool’ that this film stands in a league all its own. The action is just short of slapstick, with attention paid to both badass asskickery and wacky shenanigans. The humor is that special mix of raunch, snark and Fourth Wall-breaking that has come to define the character.
The Deadpool movie may not have the emotional depth or importance of all the great Marvel blockbusters, but I’ll be damned if this isn’t an entertaining jaunt in the world of comics come to life.
