New Suicide Squad Trailer is Off the Chain!

Do kids still say ‘off the chain’ these days? Surely they do. If not, I’m bringing it back for the new Suicide Squad trailer!

This thing is off the hook! (People definitely still say that!). It’s wacky, hilarious, and makes great use of Bohemian Rhapsody, a song we all know and love. Obviously, there are not just flashes of Guardians of the Galaxy in this trailer, but possibly of Deadpool too. Those are two very good influencers.

As henchie Javier pointed out to me, it’s actually kind of exciting to see someone at DC having fun! Compare that to the dark and gloomy Wonder Woman footage that’s making the rounds online, and which I’ll get around to sharing soon.

Behold, Our Justice League!

It’s never too soon to start the hype machine, so here is our first ever look at the entire movie Justice League! It’s only concept art for now, but this is it!

Is ‘Dawn’ really the strongest word they could come up with?

The art is to promote an upcoming TV special about building the movie Justice League, which is part of the larger media blitz for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. This is our first official look at Cyborg and Flash, even if it’s not a very good look. But this could be a lot worse!

Also, now that I think about it, does anybody else find it a little weird that, after the Big Three, the most promoted DC superhero at this point is Aquaman? To be fair, I’m super excited for Jason Momoa’s performance, but still, Aquaman? You’ve got Flash and Cyborg waiting in the wings, but you’re leading with Aquaman?

Just kind of interesting, is all.

Mysterious Cloverfield 2 Trailer is Mysterious

Much like it did back when it first came out, the new trailer for the Cloverfield spiritual sequel hit moviegoers without any fanfare yesterday at showings of Michael Bay’s new movie. Behold the new trailer for the mysterious 10 Cloverfield Lane.

Looks pretty good to me! Everybody loves John Goodman, and the trailer does a great job of building the mystery and the tension. Looks like this might be a great year for movies, folks!

Deadpool’s Charm Has Won Me Over

I’m already looking forward to the Deadpool movie. There have been several good trailers. And it does look funny. But the latest bit of marketing has really won me over. First came this billboard, using that emoji thing that all the kids these days are crazy about. Seems simple enough.

But the Internet, being the Internet, immediately started to poke fun at the silliness. That’s what the Internet does, and they’re oh so good at it.

What really won me over is what the Deadpool PR team did in response. They took the mockery and ran with it.

I can’t wait to see Skullpoopl!

Short Robot Film Makes Me Wish I Went Into Filmmaking

What am I doing with my life? Why am I not making amazing sci-fi films like Gear, by Kevin Adams and Joe Ksander?

It’s about 6 minutes long, and it’s a ton of fun. Futuristic, dystopian, and with some amazing special effects. Great storytelling too. Worth your while. Maybe a nice lunch break entertainment!
