Something is Definitely Happening with Multiple Man
It’s a good time to be a Multiple Man fan, let me tell you. Not only is there a comic coming out called ‘Multiple Man’ for the first time in history, but he’s also apparently going to be a big player in the upcoming Uncanny X-Men title revival.
The cover of Uncanny X-Men #2 was revealed on Wednesday, along with an interview with writer Kelly Thompson.
You’ll notice again that Jamie Madrox has the ‘M’ tattoo over his eye, indicating that this could be Madrox Prime, and not the dupe that’s currently starring in the Multiple Man comic.
So consider me definitely getting my hopes up at this point that Madrox Prime is coming back to life somehow, and he’ll be a player in Uncanny X-Men.
I’m also willing to believe that Marvel would just kill him over again just to spite me.
The Madrox cover is a take on the cover of Uncanny X-Men #1, which possibly features the roster for the team. We’ll find out in November!

6 Movie Ideas for the Venom Cinematic Universe
Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it. Remember when the movie Amazing Spider-Man 2 came out only four years ago and the SONY movie studio had all these big, amazing plans to create their own Spider-Man-centric shared universe? They wanted a Black Cat & Silver Sable movie, an Aunt May movie, a Sinister Six movie; oh boy, they were going to get themselves a big chunk of that Marvel Cinematic Universe money!
Then their movie bombed and their plans fell apart overnight.
Well now they’ve got Venom coming out in a couple of months, and their desperate partnership with Marvel to rehabilitate Spider-Man has worked like gangbusters. So apparently SONY isn’t going to learn from their past mistakes. Word has it that they’re once again ramping up plans for their own cinematic universe using all of the Marvel characters they have the rights to. There are plans for a Morbius movie, a Kraven movie, a Nightwatch movie; Black Cat and Silver Sable are going to get their own separate movies, and even the name “Jackpot” has been circulated as a possible film. Do you remember Jackpot? Jeez la-frickin’-louise! Have they learned nothing?!
What makes things even worse is that SONY no longer has access to Spider-Man to center this interconnected universe around. He’s on loan to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Marvel isn’t about to taint their awesomeness with SONY’s desperation. As well they shouldn’t.
But hey! I’m a reasonable guy! And if the Venom movie is successful and he becomes the new cornerstone of SONY’s big movie plans, I have a couple of ideas for other symbiote movies they can make!
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 8/11/18
Have you heard the good news? Kelly Thompson is going to be a major creative player in the X-Men! That’s darn good news! Let’s celebrate by reading Spider-Man, Catwoman, Superman and Domino comics!
Comic Book of the Week goes to the first issue of the newly relaunched Fantastic Four! I’ve never been much of a Fantastic Four fan, but Dan Slott has been on fire since coming off Amazing Spider-Man!
Meanwhile, I skipped reviewing Unbeatable Squirrel Girl for the second time in a row because it continues off the trial issue, with which I had several problems. The new issue is all about Squirrel Girl deciding that Kraven the Hunter should be completely absolved of all crimes because she thinks he’s a good person who is dedicated to bettering himself. Forget all previous criminal incidents, and ignore the perfectly legal trial by jury that just took place, if Squirrel Girl thinks you’re a good person, you should totally get off scot free.
Really bad call by the normally level-headed Squirrel Girl.
Comic Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man #3, Catwoman #2, Domino #5, Fantastic Four #1 and Superman #2.
The Only Things I Care About in X-Men: Disassembled
OK, so we’ve known for a bit now that the Uncanny X-Men title was coming back to print this fall. As I’ve mentioned before on this blog, Marvel loves relaunching the X-Men with an entirely new status quo every two years or so. I call it the X-Men Assembly Line. And the next major twist has been announced, kicking off with the 10-part Disassembled.
I’m not all that excited by this relaunch, at least not until we know more about what’s going to happen. I like the general idea, at least. I think the X-Men are long overdue for an overhaul. The fat needs to be trimmed, and I hope this Disassembled thing is that fat-trimming.
You can read more about the whole thing at Marvel.
There are three important things to note, at least as far as I’m concerned:
- Kelly Thompson is indeed going to be a major player in the X-Men franchise. This is awesome news! She’s the excellent writer behind all the great Rogue & Gambit stuff we’ve been seeing.
- The Multiple Man in that picture has the “M” tattoo over his eye. The currently alive Jamie Madrox over in the Multiple Man comic is a dupe who does not have the “M” tattoo over his eye. Could this mean that Jamie Prime will be back by Disassembled? I’m hopeful!
- Where the heck is Strong Guy? I have been dutifully on Strong Guy Watch for awhile now, and I’m disappointed that this is a big X-Men group shot and he’s not hiding in the background somewhere! That’s his thing right now!
Whatever happens with Disassembled, I will at least check it out. Hopefully the rest of you are more excited than I am.

Deadpool 2 is Out on DVD Soon, So Here’s the First YouTube Parody Cartoon
Gotta love these fun little videos, and How It Should Have Ended is one of the good ones! Their Deadpool 2 video was apparently written from fan submissions! And some of those are pretty funny.
Except all the parts where it seems like the HISHE crew is just writing their own Deadpool fan fiction. Like, the alternate scenes/endings stuff takes up less than half of the video before they go on an extended riff connected to their Infinity War video. I would congratulate the film for not also falling back on their Superman/Batman cafe scenes, but they make sure to get in an extended Batman riff, too.
Eh, still a fun video to laze about with on a Thursday.
