6 Supernatural Characters that Marvel Must Add to the Cinematic Universe
With Ghost Rider showing up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Doctor Strange only two months away, the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems ready to embrace the mystical, magical and supernatural corners of the comics. That sounds mighty fine to me! Robert Downey Jr. quips are only going to last so long. If Marvel hopes to keep their Cinematic Universe going, they need to branch out and try new things.
So who else can they use? Ghost Rider and Doctor Strange are both big names and great places to start, but they need to go deeper. Iron Fist is coming along on the Netflix Defenders shows. Scarlet Witch is already in the Avengers, though she’s not really treated as magical or supernatural. There are plenty of characters to choose from, and I have a few ideas. I can’t exactly promise that each one could support their own big budget movie or Netflix show, but if you’ve got to round out the cast and throw in some fun cameos, I’ve got some solid ideas!

My 6 Favorite Tim Drake Moments
To take a page out of the latest issue of Teen Titans, we have come here to honor the fallen Tim Drake. Last week saw Tim suffer through one of the biggest moments of his comic book career, and certainly the biggest, most impactful moment for him in years. To that end, I’ve decided to spend this week celebrating my favorite moments in the history of my favorite Robin.
Tim Drake is one of my all-time favorite comic book characters, in large part because he is the best Robin. That is indisputable. All the various Robins have strong character qualities, but Tim is specifically best at being Robin, at being Batman’s partner in crime-fighting. That is what makes him special and unique. And that is what I hope we will see more of going forward.
Tim Drake is not dead. But now is the best time to reflect on my six favorite Tim Drake moments and stories in comics!
My 6 Favorite Cartoons of All Time (This Week)
I have watched cartoons for my entire life. As a child in the 1980s, I was the perfect target for the glut of toy commercial cartoons that filled the airwaves (and now our movie screens). The ’90s saw not only the rise of Fox Kids and after school cartoons, but also the coming of The Simpsons and prime time animated entertainment. I sat through Nicktoons, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, and now I’m basking in a golden age of smart, intelligent and often amazing cartoons like BoJack Horseman and Steven Universe.
So through all these long years, which ones are my all-time favorites?
By popular demand, I’ve finally sat down and figured out my six favorite cartoon shows of all time — at least for this week. This list is subject to change on a whim, but I think it’s pretty rooted in solid cartoon enjoyment. I had to dig deep on this one, and it pained me to cast some of my favorites into the ‘Honorable Mentions’ at the bottom. But these six are truly some of the greats.
For the sake of my sanity and memory, we’re sticking to television cartoon shows. There are plenty of animated movies and web cartoons that are genius, but we’ll save those for another day, perhaps. And please feel free to share your own favorites in the comments below!
6 More Great Cameos on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Hello, everypony! Welcome to another List of Six about one of my favorite cartoons, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. If you didn’t know, I’m a total brony, but not in any of those weird, private ways. Those people are entitled to their own lives, I just like the show. It’s well-made, has relatable and interesting characters, and is clearly put together by a bunch of pop-culture loving geeks like me! Why do I say this? Because the animators like to cram a ton of awesome pop culture references into the background of nearly every episode! I chronicled some of the best cameos in a previous List a few years ago.
And now I’m back to do it again!
Since writing the last list, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has kept producing new episodes and seasons like any other non-cancelled show. And with age comes daring do, it seems, because there have been even more cameos than before! Heck, some of the pop culture reference characters have even joined the show and gotten speaking parts. I’ve gotten a couple henchies commenting to let me know about some of the new cameos, so I’ve decided to whip up another awesome cameo list!

6 Minor Things that Really Grind My Gears
This List is all about gripes. We’ve all got gripes. Be they big complaints or minor nitpicks, none of us is perfectly happy with every single facet of the world. I’ve gone on a few rants in my day on this blog, sometimes over little things. I can’t even remember them all. But over time, I’ve been collecting a few specific things that really grind my gears and I’ve put them into a new List of Six.
I’m sure I have a lot more gripes and complaints with the world than these six. But these ones are still pretty good. They’re just facets of the world that get under my skin, like nails on a chalkboard. These are all probably completely innocuous, but I just want to get them off my chest.
Join me after the jump for six dumb little things that really grind my gears. And feel free to share some of your own in the comments!
