6 Thoughts on Game of Thrones Season 4
Wow, what a finale! I had certain fears and expectations for the Season 4 finale of Game of Thrones, but the actual episode blew all of them away! Every storyline seemed to get a really big bump in excitement, and I think it might have been the best finale in the show so far! So it’s a shame that I actually started writing this list before seeing the finale, heh, because that final episode kind of turned my feelings on the season around, at least little bit. Still, let’s not let that deter us, and let’s celebrate Season 4 of Game of Thrones!
I read a pretty good description of Game of Thrones online the other day. It basically pointed out that we missed the big, heroic, happily ever after story decades ago, when the heroic Robert Baratheon and his best friend Ned Stark battled the evil Targaryen family to save the kingdom from madness. That story had everything: handsome heroes, beautiful princesses, epic battles, glorious victories and good triumphing over evil. It also had happy endings. Robert got to marry the beautiful Cersei, and promised to be a just and fair king. Ned got to retire from war to go home and raise his family.
The lesson that follows, of course, is that life doesn’t have happy endings. Life doesn’t just end when the story is over. Life goes on, and it’s never as good as your glory days, and that’s Game of Thrones. It’s the bitter, petty, regretful life that inevitably comes after the Happily Ever After.

The 6 Best Cameos on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Fair warning, I’m feeling especially adorable this week. Want to know the geekiest show on television? It’s not Big Bang Theory. Nor is it Game of Thrones. The title has to go to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic! Not only is it a cartoon that has taken fandom by storm, but it is clearly produced by some giddy geeks.
What makes me say this? How about the simple fact that they’ve taken a cartoon about cutesy, colorful ponies and filled it with more pop culture references and background jokes than your average episode of Family Guy! And at My Little Pony, they’re actually clever about it. Clearly for the sheer fun of it, the people behind My Little Pony love showing off their geek cred.

6 Thoughts on the Second Season of Arrow
There are almost too many geeky shows on TV these days! It’s like a dream come true. And they’re all mostly good, and few are better than Arrow, which is probably my favorite drama on TV these days. Anybody who complains that it’s just Batman Lite, or too focused on CW-style drama, can just go be haters off in their own little corner. I’ll enjoy my live action Green Arrow TV show. Arrow is an exciting, action-packed superhero drama, which ratcheted up the acting, storytelling and, above all, tension, to make their second season into some truly great TV!
I was lukewarm about season one. I enjoyed it, sure, but it wasn’t the greatest show by any means. But then the team behind Arrow blew me away with the first season finale, and I was definitely coming back for more with season two. Imagine my delight when season two turned out to be amazing! Ollie the superhero, Black Canary, the League of Assassins, the Suicide Squad, the Flash, freakin’ Deathstroke the Terminator! It was all so good!

6 Thoughts on the First Season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been over for a few weeks now, and I would have done this list sooner, but Godzilla and X-Men: Days of Future Past had to be addressed (and both were entertaining movies). I’ve come to the general conclusion that I don’t think I would be a very good TV reviewer. I don’t have the time or energy to really tackle each episode when it airs, and I’m pretty subjective when it comes to TV. So in order to tackle these popular shows, I like to wrap up my thoughts in a List of Six.
Expect my thoughts on the second season for Arrow next week. And today, let’s talk about the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.LD.!
First things first, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. didn’t live up to the hype. There’s no way around it. This was billed as a TV tie-in to the amazing Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Joss Whedon himself, and the hype was through the roof last Summer. But I think we can all agree that the show just didn’t measure up. But I stuck with it every week and saw every episode, and I’m going to be tuning in next season. So you better believe I have some thoughts.

6 Things I Want to See in an X-Force Movie
Initial reviews for X-Men: Days of Future Past are looking pretty good, so maybe this movie will wipe away any apprehensions I may have about the X-Men film franchise these days. I doubted X-Men: First Class, but quickly came to love it. Perhaps FOX really does have the X-Men’s best interest at heart.
So let’s let the apprehension of the proposed X-Force flick begin!
We haven’t heard much about the X-Force movie, only that there’s a script in the works. For those of you who don’t know, X-Force is kind of the rebellious younger sibling of the X-Men. Whereas the X-Men are this big, family-like team of noble superheroes, X-Force is the rougher, meaner, grittier squad that tries to be more proactive in their crime fighting. If FOX wants some X-spin-offs, then X-Force is definitely a great place to start.
