All Them Supermans, Animated
Welcome to a new week, everybody! Sorry I was gone over the weekend. I went home and visited the folks, with my siblings in town. So it was a nice weekend. And now it’s a Monday, and another week has begun. Oy vey. Anyway, to kick off this Monday, how about the Tell It Animated episode for Superman?
Such fun! Tell It Animated is always a hoot. And, as always, I suggest doing Robin! Plenty of live action Robin appearances, even if none of them have been all that great.

Some of the Sweet Comic-Con Trailers
San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing this weekend and we’ve got a bunch of nifty trailers to share! Nothing as big as a new Marvel movie or DCU film, but we’ve got some TV shows and smaller flicks, so it all works out nicely, I think.
We do have one DC show, at least. Peacemaker season 2 starts next month and we got a newer, fuller trailer.
Obviously I can’t wait for season 2, so awesome there. Everything looks like it’s gonna be a ton of fun and we’ll see what sorts of shenanigans we get this time around. Me, personally, I don’t need an onscreen explanation for the differences in the DC movie universes, but we’ll see what happens.
Peacemaker returns to HBO Max on Aug. 21.
Next up is a trailer for Starfleet Academy, the next Star Trek show. It’s basically a boarding school show set in the Star Trek universe.
If I understand this probably — and I don’t fully — I think this takes place in the far, far future. Something about Star Trek: Discovery going into the future and I guess now they’ve established a new academy? I don’t know. I didn’t watch the last two seasons of Discovery. But maybe this will be a fun, clean slate start for a new show.
Starfleet Academy comes to Paramount+ early next year.
Speaking of spin-off TV shows, the second season of Gen V in the Boys universe is also on its way.
I like The Boys just fine and can’t wait for the final season. I also really enjoyed the first season of Gen V, so I’m definitely looking forward to a second season. There’s probably a very good chance that it’s going to be fun.
Gen V returns to Amazon on Sept. 17.
Lastly, but not leastly, is a trailer for Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, because the world doesn’t stop.
I watched Spinal Tap many years ago, once I was an adult, and it was good, I’m sure. That they went and made a sequel before they all die? Fine by me! I did just watch and enjoy Happy Gilmore 2, so who am I to debate the existence of Spinal Tap II? Exactly!
Spinal Tap II is coming to theaters on Sept. 12.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/26/25
It’s the week of weeks! Not only did Fantastic Four: First Steps just come out, but we’re also smack dab in the middle of San Diego Comic Con! So much news coming out. So many trailers. And we had a nice week of comics as well, like Absolute Wonder Woman and Superman.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Void Rivals #21 for an excellent, action-packed issue that uses all of its characters very well.
Meanwhile, I loved the new Fantastic Four movie and hope to have my review up on time next week. Greatness all around! And then I continue to plug again at Death Stranding 2. I’m taking my darn time and stretching out the game as far as I can, because there’s nothing else on the horizon. I also started watching Smiling Friends, which was nice, and the new episode of South Park was perfection. So good week all around for pop culture.
Comic Reviews: Absolute Martin Manhunter #5, Absolute Wonder Woman #10, Superman #28 and Void Rivals #21.

As expected, this busy week has come to an end and we can all relax and enjoy some comics. Except that I didn’t enjoy a lot of this week’s comics! For possibly the first time in a long time, there are some real stinkers in my review column!
But not Comic Book of the Week Absolute Batman #10, for some truly excellent, Batman-themed horror.
Meanwhile, I continue to slowly make my way through Death Stranding 2. I’m very much enjoying the game. Or maybe I just enjoy giving myself virtual busy work? Who’s to say. Other than that, I’m excited for Fantastic Four: First Steps this week, and do hope to get my Superman review up sooner rather than later.
Comic Reviews: Absolute Batman #10, Absolute Flash #5, Exceptional X-Men #11, Imperial #2 and Wonder Woman #23.
