Read the First Issue of Gamer Girl & Vixen for Free!

As we gear up for the next Kickstarter on April 2, my team and I are offering the first issue of Gamer Girl & Vixen for everyone to read! All you have to do is sign up for our mailing list and we’ll send you a link to download Gamer Girl & Vixen #1. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

We’ll be using the mailing list to advertise comic news, and other news from the LGBT community. It’ll go out likely twice a month. And there will be more Gamer Girl & Vixen news as we get closer to the Kickstarter next month. Has anybody read the first issue yet? What did you think? Let everybody know in the comments!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 3/12/16

Is anybody else excited for March? By this time next week, we’ll all be buried in the second season of Daredevil! That is beyond exciting! And by this time in two weeks, we’ll all have seen Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice! For some reason, March 2016 is a good month in geekiness.

So it’s good that we have good comics, too! This week delivered more solid goodness from Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Ms. Marvel, Starfire and more. They were so good, I kind of think I should start reviewing other comics, because I praise these too much.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Mighty Thor #5, as Jason Aaron delivers more than a few showstoppers!

Feels like somebody is missing…

Speaking of good comics, remember to mark your calendars for April 2, when the new Kickstarter for Gamer Girl & Vixen launches! In fact, I think I’ll have some even bigger news about my comic tomorrow! So come back then!

Comic Book Reviews: All-New Wolverine #6, Doctor Strange #6, Mighty Thor #5, Ms. Marvel #5 and Starfire 10.

The World of Comics Just Got a Lot More Adorable

It’s the crossover I never knew I wanted, but now I can’t think of anything better. DC Comics and BOOM! Studios are going to work together to crossover Lumberjanes and Gotham Academy in a summer mini-series! Village Voice has the details on the creative team!

It's just so beautiful

It’s just so beautiful

This is beyond cool. Like…I don’t even know how to describe how cool this is. An inter-company crossover? How does that even happen?! How does the universe allow such greatness to exist? I live in the universe, I know how horrible it can be.

We’re not supposed to have nice things!

But maybe, just maybe, the Lumberjanes and the students of Gotham Academy can team up and go on an adventure into our imaginations!

Starting in June.

Gamer Girl & Vixen is Going Back to Kickstarter!

Hey there, comic book and blog fans! I’ve got some big news on the future of my own project, Gamer Girl & Vixen! We’re going back to Kickstarter on April 2! This time, we’re going to publish a gorgeous, full color, 100-page GG&V graphic novel!

So save the date!

We had a huge outpouring of support last year to kick off this project, and we’re going even bigger this time around.

Gamer Girl & Vixen is an LGBT-friendly comic about love, lesbians and larceny! When two costumed crooks meet cute on their college campus, they decide to go into the burglary business together. But playful flirting and brushes with adventure lead to real feelings. It’s a supervillain romance!

Making this comic has been such a huge blast. I’ve always wanted to be a writer, and with Gamer Girl & Vixen, I’m finally getting out there and making it happen. I hope I can convince you all to help support the project next month.

To kick off the campaign this year, we’re offering everyone a FREE COPY of Gamer Girl & Vixen #1! Join our mailing list and you’ll be given a link to download the first issue! Read it for yourself, see what all the fuss is about. Then mark your calendar for April 2!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 3/5/16

I don’t know about you, but this was a pretty busy week for me. Work work work work work work work. I tells ya! I was able to get in a full-sized review of the first issue of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, which was pretty fun. But this week’s Henchie Bits are a little on the light side What can I say, I was morphed out.

But hey, any week with new issues of Batgirl and Iron Man is a good enough week for me! We’ve also got the first issue of Mark Waid and Chris Samnee’s Black Widow. I hope to stick with the title this time.

Comic Book of the Week goes to the second issue of Spider-Man. I do have a soft spot for Miles Morales, and this issue surprised me in a few interesting ways.

Too soon, Bendis

If only Donald Glover was still young enough to be cast as Spider-Man.

Comic Reviews: Batgirl #49, Black Widow #1, Invincible Iron Man #7 and Spider-Man #2.
