Here’s a Bunch of Netflix Movie Trailers

Look, I’m off from work today, slept in a little bit and am generally feeling kind of lazy. It’s super hot and humid here in the northeast and sometimes a fella’s just got to make a lazy blog post. So here’s a bunch of Netflix trailers I’ve been sitting on for a lazy day!

First up is a brand new film that I just heard about, which prompted this lazy post. It’s Over the Moon! An animated film set to release in the fall.

Next up is Old Guard starring Charlize Theron as an ancient comic book badass, along with her whole crew. It comes out on July 10. If Netflix is snatching up any comic book it can find in these pandemic times, I’ve got something they might be interested in!

Lastly is Warrior Nun, which is actually a series, not a movie. It’s based on a manga, so similar to a comic! This comes out on July 2, so not very far off at all.

All of these look pretty good. Especially what with this being the Year Without Movies!

I Love a Good Simpsons Meme, Especially in LEGO

I love the fact that the “steamed hams” bit from The Simpsons became this weird meme. It’s the perfect kind of insane.

Apparently it’s still a thing, because here’s the entire scene done in amazing LEGO by Chuwawa on YouTube!

I mean, that’s absolutely perfect, right? The animation is gorgeous and flows like butter! The jokes are just as funny today as they were all those years ago. This is memedom to perfection!

If this Chuwawa fellow is looking to get hired somewhere as an animator, I’d say this definitely makes the highlight reel.

We’re Getting More Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts Soon!

With so many great cartoons coming to an end recently, the world is going to need new ones. So here comes season two of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts on Netflix on June 12!

The first season was a lot of fun. It’s a quirky little show about a girl trying to make her way across a beast and villain-filled post-apocalyptic city to rescue her people. Like, it takes place in the far future, where humanity lives in enclaves underground because wonderbeasts and sentient beast villains rule topside. When Kipo’s enclave is destroyed and she’s separated from her people, she finds some topside friends and makes her way in the world to find her dad and her people. It’s really fun.

And here’s hoping season 2 continues that fun trend!

6 Cartoon Couples Allowed to be Queer at the Very End

So this is a thing. And it’s surprised me that I’ve been able to find six examples to make this list. But the series finale of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power provided the last piece of the puzzle and I finally finished this article. It’s a sign of the times. There have been multiple instances where a cartoon show’s series finale finally allows certain characters to come out of the closet and be true to their gay, lesbian and/or bisexual selves.

I think it’s great! But it’s still weird that it’s only allowed to happen in the series finale, right?

Gay at End List 01

Give us some series premiere action!

Some day, we are going to get a show where the main character and their love interest are both openly queer. Or are both somewhere on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. It’s gonna happen. Some day we’re going to get a lesbian Disney Princess. Some day, a big fancy company is going to purchase the rights to my own self-published queer comic, Gamer Girl & Vixen, and turn it into a popular, award-winning show! And no, that’s not the only reason I’m doing this list! I just wanted to shamelessly self-promote for a little bit.

Join me after the jump for the phenomenon that is LGBTQ+ cartoon couples allowed to come out and be proud at the very, very, very end of the series. SPOILERS for the end of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

There’s Going to be More Adventure Time, Apparently!

Adventure Time was an amazing show with an even more amazing series finale! I finally got around to watching the end only a couple months ago, and it was phenomenal! But, apparently, that’s not going to be the end, because the new HBO streaming service needs content! So there’s going to be a BMO TV movie!

Looks like fun! Seems to have the same spirit as Adventure Time, especially BMO, who everybody loves! And perhaps this will lead to more Distant Lands TV movies down the line. I have no problem with Adventure Time stories continuing. If they have good ideas and can put good work behind it, I say bring it on!
