Batman is the Knight of Awesome
A super artist named Mauricio Abril decided to up his awesome level by drawing/painting this epic Batman adventure.
Set to the tune of “Knights of Cydonia” by Muse, Batman just kicks a lot of butt in pure Batman style. I know that if I were an artist in any way whatsoever (besides wordsmith), I would totally do Batman art all the time. That makes life worth living.
6 Things I Love That Everybody Else Hates
Wow, people really seem to hate Ben Affleck. When it was announced last week that Affleck had been cast as the new Batman, the Internet exploded! And after that, I think there were more articles about the negative fan reaction than there were articles about the actual announcement. It seems the Internet really, really doesn’t want Ben Affleck to play Batman.
But why not? I like Ben Affleck just fine, and I’m excited to see what he’ll do with the character.
So that got me thinking, what are other pop culture things that I love but everybody else seems to hate? I know there are more than a few movies on that list, but what else? Being the student of the Internet that I am, keeping track of the various hate rage is just something that comes gradually. We all know that the Internet loves bacon and Joss Whedon, and we also know that everybody hates the Star Wars prequels and, apparently, Ben Affleck. These are just accepted facts of pop culture society these days.
Well I’ve put together a list of six things I absolutely love that everybody else seems to hate. And I’d love to hear some of yours in the comments.
Wonder Woman: American Badass
DC Nation is back on the air, which means a new slew of awesome short cartoons. And while I will be sharing the newest Super Best Friends Forever soon, first I thought I’d give you the 3-part Wonder Woman is Awesome cartoon! It’s pretty badass. And it’s nice and short, so definitely worth your time.
Also, as writer Dan Slott tweeted recently, how funny is it that Groot and Rocket Raccoon will be in a big budget movie before Wonder Woman? Funny and tragic!

I Like Weird Things, and That Includes ‘Bee and Puppycat’
Oh wow, has the Internet delivered! The second episode of Bee and Puppycat is online, and it’s an utter delight.
So Bee and Puppycat is made by Natasha Allegri, who has worked on Adventure Time, another show I love. And you can clearly see the Adventure Time influence in Bee and Puppycat. My love for these little shorts is hard to explain. Bee and Puppycat is insane…but it’s an adorable kind of insane. And if something is adorable, it can pretty much get away with anything. But there’s another level where Bee, the main character, is also kind of realistic. She may be on this wild adventure, but she’s also awkward and neurotic, adding to the utter cuteness of the whole thing. Plus her voice is just fantastic.
Bee and Puppycat may be my new favorite Internet thing. And you can watch the first episode after the jump.
Starcher Trek Goes Where All Nerds Wish They Could Go
Some enterprising geeks decided to dub dialogue from Archer over the old animated Star Trek show just for kicks and giggles!

Why can’t we live in a world where this sort of thing happens more often?
Also, all you blog fans, I’m still sort of recovering/unpacking from my trip to Boston Comic-Con over the weekend. It didn’t help that I had to go to work this morning. Why I didn’t add Monday to my vacation, I’ll never know. Anyway, stay tuned this week for a recap of my Con adventure and tons of cosplay pictures!
