The Five Stages of Watching a Pixar Movie

Thank you, Only Leigh!

I saw Inside Out the other weekend and it was very good. Not one of Pixar’s best, but still an awesome flick. Unique premise, fun characters, great ending, quality bits of humor and emotion; solid Pixar all around. Of course, considering it came in at #2 behind Jurassic World (which I also saw), probably means that we’re going to get three more highly profitable Cars sequels before we get another really good Pixar movie.

Sigh.

We’re Getting More Rick and Morty! And Soon!

The second season of the amazing, hilarious cartoon Rick and Morty is coming to televisions on July 26! Hip, hip, hooray! Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!

Looks like plenty of awesome wackiness, but that trailer doesn’t even touch the depths of how crazy this show can get it. If you haven’t seen the first season, now is the time to get caught up! It’s on Adult Swim! Rick and Morty forever!

Aminals in Space Be Funny!

Here’s a neat little something to tide us all over on this dreary Friday.

Animation rules. That little video was produced by Li Wen Toh for a class at the California Institute for the Arts. Student films are probably pretty awesome these days, thanks to computers!

Did You Hear They’re Making a Third Kung Fu Panda?

I like the Kung Fu Panda series. I like the first movie, I like the second movie, and I’m jazzed for a third movie. What’s not to love? They’re fun and funny films, with a really likable cast and great moments. That ‘there is no secret ingredient’ moment at the end of the first movie is phenomenal, as is the cannonball sequence at the end of the second. Just gorgeous.

So what will the third movie bring?

Bryan Cranston!

Though I’m a little confused why Kung Fu Panda 3 would come out in January. That’s a movie dead zone. Do they not have any faith in this movie? Is the Kung Fu Panda series not a tentpole franchise? Or is Hollywood trying to make January movies a thing now?

Also, if you’re so interested, a Chinese trailer was also released which shows a ton more footage, some of it pretty amazing. Bryan Cranston is great, and all, but check out the action in this trailer.

Now that’s a Kung Fu Panda movie!

That Animated Peanuts Movie Still Doesn’t Look Half Bad

I’m still not totally convinced this is a good idea or is going to result in anything great. But this full-length trailer is pretty nice.

I do like the idea that the writers are focusing on the Little Redheaded Girl for the main plot. That’s kind of nifty. And the animation looks pretty cool, I’ll give it that. Let’s all just keep kind of hoping that The Peanuts Movie turns out pretty good.

Also, why not called it Peanuts: The Motion Picture? Somebody needs to bring that back…
