Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/10/15
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! The long national nightmare of Secret Wars is over, and the All-New, All-Different Marvel is upon us! Though, that isn’t exactly accurate. Secret Wars is not yet over, and will actually continue all the way into December. And it’s not a nightmare, I’m actually enjoying it. But the All-New, All-Different Marvel is definitely here in force this week! No longer do we have to rely on tie-ins or Star Wars comics to get our Marvel fix! We’ve got brand new first issues of Amazing Spider-Man, Invincible Iron Man and Doctor Strange, who, I guess, doesn’t deserve an adjective.
Comic Book of the Week goes to the first issue of the new Amazing Spider-Man, which only barely inches past the new Invincible Iron Man. Possibly because it includes the greatest cameo by the Prowler in a decade! Among other goodies.
Though this week isn’t all wine and roses. DC has launched their sequel to the henchly-reviled Batman Eternal! And like a pig to the slaughter, I picked that up too…
Comic Reviews: Action Comics #45, Amazing Spider-Man #1, Batman and Robin Eternal #1, Doctor Strange #1 and Invincible Iron Man #1.
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/3/15
Oof! It’s another light week of comics for some reason. It’s a Fifth Wednesday, which means a lot of companies don’t really put out much to begin with. But Marvel is still mired in Secret Wars to make things even worse!
I picked up two Annuals from DC Comics, but they’re both mildly entertaining efforts that don’t really have anything to do with the ongoing stories. Fortunately, the light week gave me a chance to jump back into Kaijumax, which wins Comic Book of the Week for its fascinatingly twisted look into monster prison!
I’ll try not to hold it against Oni Press that they didn’t want either of my comic submissions.
Comic Reviews: Batman Annual #4, The Cavalry #1, Grayson Annual #2, and Kaijumax #6.
It’s The All Singing, All Dancing Batman!
First he sang the metal, and it was great. And now Batman sings Taylor Swift in this excellent song parody by the How It Should Have Ended peeps!
Good times all around!
And if you really want your fix of Batman v. Superman cartoons, check out this mini-battle by Stephen Byrne. It’s short but it’s sweet…unless you love Batman.
Me personally, I’m definitely in the camp that Batman can beat Superman, given the right circumstances. Batman has no limits!

Batmetal Returns!
Get your head-banging ready, because Batmetal Returns! Beware some pretty strong content.
Batman and the Robins singing a death metal song from Dethklok? Hot damn! That’s high quality kickassery, I tells you what! Kudos to ArhyBES for whipping out another awesome video. And if you liked this one, feel free to go back and watch their previous Batmetal video from last year.
