Everybody Should Watch The Owl House
I just wanted to pass this trailer along as a friendly reminder that everybody should watch and enjoy The Owl House on Disney+. This is a cartoon I discovered late last year after deciding on a whim to give it a try. And it’s great! It’s funny, it’s creative, it’s badass when it wants to be; a solid, enjoyable cartoon adventure show.
The first season is fully available to watch, and the second season will kick off this Saturday, June 12. If you’re looking for a new cartoon to fill the void now that the likes of Adventure Time and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power are over, The Owl House is a solid choice!
Trust me, I know these things.

One Last Black Widow Trailer!
The Black Widow movie is a month away and Marvel decided to release one final trailer. Just for kicks and giggles, I suppose. Every trailer has been fun and the movie looks very exciting. Here’s hoping the movie has been worth the wait!
Black Widow, new Black Widow, Taskmaster, Red Guardian; there’s a lot to love about this movie. I’m hoping for a big, exciting spy/action thriller. And I know Marvel and Scarlett Johansson can pull it off. Just gotta wait another month!
Black Widow comes to theaters and Disney+ on July 9.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/5/21
What a week. What a week. What a week. For me, it was mostly marked by being dead tired. Up here in my neck of the woods, the heat has changed and I’m having trouble sleeping. So…ugh. Tired. But at least we had comics to read, like Batman and Crush & Lobo, which I decided to try out for Pride Month!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Marauders #21 for a nice introduction to the Hellfire Gala. It isn’t the highest rated single issue this week, but it had some really fun moments, kicked off a major event I’m very excited about, and it brought Rhapsody back to comics. That’s all win win for me!
Meanwhile, Heroes Reborn continues to be a ton of fun! It’s still this glorious Amalgam throwback and I am here for it. I also wrapped up Mare of Easttown on HBO and it was a really good detective/mystery show. Kept me guessing and it features a lot of great characters and character work. Definitely recommended.
Comic Reviews: Batman #109, Crush & Lobo #1, Marauders #21, Hellions #12 and X-Force #20.

Well this looks neat. A new Netflix animated comedy movie about the “true” story of America’s birth. It’s America: The Motion Picture and it looks both silly and great.
Made by the guy behind Archer, with Phil Lord and Chris Miller on as producers, this looks like a hoot and a half! We’ve got Channing Tatum as George Washington, Olivia Munn as Thomas Edison, and this looks to be a crazy romp of sarcastic patriotism. I hope we can still laugh about such a thing.
America: The Motion Picture arrives on Netflix on June 30.

UN-Forgotten Characters: Rhapsody Has Returned
Every comic book character is somebody’s favorite. There have been so many comics across so many decades, with so many people reading them at random, that certain issues and certain characters are going to stick with those people.
One of those characters for me is the mutant Rhapsody, a character who made a single storyline appearance in an issue of Peter David’s X-Factor all the way back in 1992. I don’t remember how little 9-year-old me got ahold of the issue, but so much about what I love in comics can be traced directly back to X-Factor #79.
Join me after the jump for the full story and Rhapsody’s return at the Hellfire Gala!
