Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Looks Spectacular

I have loved everything I’ve seen about the upcoming animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. I have been a Turtles fan since I was a little kid in the ’80s. They were my jam. And I have gladly checked out all the various iterations over the years. I’m all in favor of a new one, especially one that looks so good.

I love the animation style. It’s gorgeous! It’s so flashy and cool. I love the sense of humor, the sense of action, the understanding of the characters. This looks so damn good! We also got our first looks at the supporting mutants, like Mondo Gecko, Ray Fillet and my favorite, Wingnut. They’re not as cool as I’d hoped they would be, but they definitely fit the style of the movie. So we’ll see how it all plays out on the big screen.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem comes out on Aug. 2.

6 Characters I Want to See in the Spider-Man 2 Video Game

This is a great time to be a Spider-Man fan. Not only does the new film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse come out this week, but last week we got our first big look at the upcoming Spider-Man 2 video game for the Playstation 5. I’m going to the first showing of the movie this week, and you best believe I’ll be picking up that game day one! Everything’s coming up Spider-Man!

Promotional image!

Next week, I’ll do a review of Across the Spider-Verse here in this List of Six space. So this week, I’ve decided to whip together a quick list for the Spider-Man 2 video game. Who do I want to see appear in the game? What cameos and character appearances? We already know that Kraven the Hunter and Venom will be the major villains, but what about minor villains? What about some superhero allies? Or some civilian friends?

Join me after the jump for a couple characters I hope to see in this surely awesome video game.

Ash vs. Tell It Animated

We need some slasher heroes! The good dude at Tell It Animated is now tackling Ash Williams from the Evil Dead films. Because Ash is awesome and deserves this sort of attention and love.

Another banger of an episode! I’m glad to see that Tell It Animated has nearly two million followers these days. I hope this dude is killing it and raking in the big bucks for his fun little shorts. I wish him all the success in the world.

And, as always, my recommendation is Robin!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 5/27/23

It’s only DC Comics this week, after the glut of Marvel last week. I wanted to read more than the three I ended up reading, but Tears of the Kingdom is a h ell of a drug. We’ve got new Green Arrow and Justice Society, at least.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Nightwing #104 because I am nothing if not predictable. It’s also a really fun comic.

Good color scheme

Meanwhile, I’ve been playing the heck out of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and I plan to continue for the long, foreseeable future. I’ll maybe spend the whole summer with that game. Beyond that, uh, I watched that new season of the Great American Baking Show…on the side of Zelda, so I wasn’t paying my full attention. And I’m right now watching the latest season of Mythic Quest. So yeah, I’m a busy guy. Zelda.

Comic Reviews: Green Arrow #2, Justice Society of America #4 and Nightwing #104.

I Am Ready for the Barbie Movie

Man, I cannot wait to see what the heck the Barbie movie is going to be. We’ve got a new trailer and it provides a lot more detail and depth to what’s in store. I am so ready for this movie. I am ready for this to blow my mind. And hopefully I’m not hyping it up to myself too much.

This looks great. I love the aesthetic. I love the existential crisis. I love the storyline potential of “put this doll back in the box.” And here’s hoping that Will Ferrell is playing a live action version of Lord Business from The LEGO Movie.

The Barbie movie looks great and I can’t wait to do the Barbie/Oppenheimer double feature on July 21.
