All I Want for Christmas is LEGOs!
Whenever someone asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year, I told them I wanted LEGOs. And yes, I did turn 30 this year. Thank you.
The problem with being 30 is that I already buy anything I need. That means Christmas gifts should be things I want. And with DVDs going out of style, and my tastes in clothing, music and books relatively unknown, I asked for LEGO sets, because deep down, I’m still a little boy.
My dad said he didn’t want to get me LEGOs until I had kids of my own who could play with them. I can’t say he’s wrong. But have you seen the new Jabba’s Palace LEGO sets!? They are sweet!
Hollywood to Reach It’s Zenith With The LEGO Movie
I kind of knew The LEGO Movie was coming out. I did not realize it would be this amazing.
This may be the first movie to ever team-up Michelangelo and Michelangelo. For that alone, this should be genius. And then generic 80s space guy? I had those guys! Those were my LEGOs! I realize this movie is aimed at kids, but honestly, this movie is made for me. Scratch that, it’s made for us. Anyone who was always secretly happy when your grandmother kept getting you LEGO sets for Christmas even though you were in high school. Anyone who still contemplates whether to buy LEGO Batman sets well into their 20s. Anyone who went ahead and bought the LEGO Batmobile and proudly displays it on their bookshelf.
This movie is for us!
The Superman Movie We Really Want
Man of Steel is coming out next year, but I think this is the only Superman movie we need!
I love me some stop-motion LEGO movies. Sometimes I wonder if I could pull one off myself. I’ve got enough cool LEGOs. I’ve even got that Lex Luthor robot from the video! And the Batmobile. Once I found out LEGO was making an official Batmobile, I just had to buy it. No ifs, ands or buts. Brought to use by Counter 656.
A Hobbit Halloween is Spooktacular
I’m sorry, but there are no puns in the world that would do this video justice, so I went with the easiest one.
The above video was made by the Brotherhood Workshop, who also made the Cranky Cavetroll video. How do we make it so that this team only ever makes humorous LEGO videos from now on? I want a steady stream of these awesome videos for the rest of my life, and definitely to include more than just the Lord of the Rings LEGOs. OK, guys? Make it happen. This stuff is amazing.
Who Needs a Live Action Justice League Movie
When we can have one made out of LEGOs instead!
Despite the mouthful title of LEGO Batman The Movie: DC Heroes Unite, this is going to be a full length LEGO Batman movie, based off the recent video game (which I sadly have not played). It’s going to star Batman and Robin teaming up with the entire Justice League to take on the Joker and Lex Luthor!
So why even bother with a live action Justice League movie? There’s no way it’ll be as good as this. Heck, why bother with traditional animation anymore? All future superhero movies should be made out of Lego.
