Let’s Start the Day With a Little Batman!

The video game convention E3 is in full swing this week, with all sorts of trailers and previews and announcements. I bet it’s just a bunch of fun to be there. Unfortunately, I am not cool enough to get to go, so I’m stuck back here just watching the trailers on Youtube. C’est la vie.

But one of those trailers is a whole mess of gameplay footage for Batman: Arkham Knight!

Just look at the scope of that game! That cityscape is huge! Or maybe it’s just the fact that driving around on the streets in the Batmobile makes it look bigger than when we’re zipping around on rooftops in previous games. Either way, that part looked great. And the Batmobile looks cool…except it instantly made me think of any Grand Theft Auto game, where the moment you start driving around at high speeds is the moment you’re going to cause a ton of collateral damage. The game employee who managed to make turns and drive mostly straight might be good, but the rest of us are going to crash into everything around us. So I guess it’s a good idea to remove pedestrians.

Still, the game looks pretty darn sweet. It’s not enough to convince me to plop down several hundred dollars on a new console, but maybe I’ll get a better graphics card for my computer at least…

New Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer Continues to Taunt My Lack of Next Gen

I don’t own a next gen console, either an X-Box One or a Playstation 4. And despite a lifetime of loving video games, I currently have no desire to drop hundreds of dollars on either of those machines. So what the heck am I supposed to do about Batman: Arkham Knight this fall?!

I have been a big fan of every single Batman: Arkam game so far. I’m not one of those guys who nitpicks every little thing, so yeah, I enjoyed Arkham Origins just fine. I’m sure I will love playing Arkham Knight. But man…it’s going to be a hard sell. Maybe I’ll spend the money to upgrade my computer so I can get the PC version. That will probably exist, right?

Also, still no sign of Robin…

Batman: Arkham Origins DLC Out Today!

It doesn’t feature Robin – as far as I know – but Mr. Freeze is a good consolation prize, right? Plus, Batman gets a beefy new super suit!

That’s a pretty awesome trailer. I haven’t played Batman: Arkham Origins since it came out, but I definitely enjoyed it, so maybe I’ll plot down the $10 and get this DLC. I’ve been looking for some new games recently.

Double Dose of Batman Fun!

Who loves themselves some Batman? Apparently the world of animation does, because here we’ve got two – count’em, two! – separate Batman animated spectaculars! And seeing as how it’s the Monday after Easter, the second most Batman of all the major holidays, I figure now is as good a time as any to share.

First up is a short cartoon starring Batman Beyond, produced by Darwyn Cooke, one of the true greats.

It’s a neat little cartoon. Though I never knew Cooke was such a big Batman Beyond fan. As we learned a few weeks ago, I am not.

Though while we’re on the topic, isn’t it way past time for Batman Beyond to get a Robin Beyond? Just sayin’…

The second Batman offering today is the trailer for the next animated feature: Batman: Assault on Arkham! It’s set in the Arkham Asylum video game universe, which is pretty cool. And it stars the Suicide Squad alongside Batman, which is equally cool.

Trailer looks neat! Though I would like to point out that there’s no sign yet of a Robin cameo…

Clearly Batman + LEGOs is a Winning Combination

Enjoy this LEGO Batman Arkham video on your no-doubt harsh Monday!

With The LEGO Movie dominating the box office, surely I can’t be the only person in a LEGO mood recently. Brought to use by the folks at forestfire101.
