How About a Second Season of The Wheel of Time?

I’m back home from my trip to New York City, recovering from all the new bruises I got from being outside my comfort zone. Ow. Anyway, it’s a Tuesday, there’s not a lot going on, I missed yesterday; how about a trailer for a second season of The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime?

I barely remember the first season. I know I liked it, definitely liked it more than I guess the general consensus. Something about a chosen one? If you haven’t seen the first season, the trailer gives away which character is the chosen one. But I think I only recognized some of the actors in that trailer, and only a little bit of the plot. Oh well. I’ll probably watch a recap video on YouTube and then dive into season 2 at some point.

The Wheel of Time season 2 comes out on Sept. 1.

Comic-Con Cartoon Trailers Ahoy!

It’s the Sunday of San Diego Comic-Con, so it’s a good day to just dump all the great trailers we saw this weekend. Mostly it was trailers for some of my favorite cartoon shows, which are all coming back for new seasons soon. So rather than parse them out over the next week, let’s pile them on and talk about them!

First up is the trailer for season 4 of Harley Quinn. I love this show and can’t wait for more episodes!

Harley Quinn is a great show and they’ve shown no signs of slowing down as we get into more seasons. It’s maybe not as sharp as the first two seasons, which were made back-to-back, but it’s still hugely entertaining and super fun. This season we’ve been told we’ll get more focus on Poison Ivy, and watching them maintain their relationship while on different sides of the hero/villain conflict should be a hoot.

Harley Quinn season 4 comes to Max on July 27, so next week!

Next up is the first look at season two of Invincible! Love this show as well, can’t wait for new episodes!

I’ve read the entirety of the Invincible comic after buying the three big compendiums, so I’m ready to see this show go all the way. The first season was great stuff, and hopefully season 2 will continue that greatness. There’s a ton of material to work with, a ton of great moments and characters to play around with. Can’t wait to see how they do it!

Invincible season 2 comes to Amazon Prime on Nov. 3.

Sticking with cartoons, how about the season 4 trailer for Star Trek: Lower Decks! Between the last season and this one, I’ve watched the entirety of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 1, so I’m big into Star Trek these days. I haven’t watched the crossover episode yet.

Lower Decks is a super fun show and I can’t wait to see what they do in season 4, especially with the new Vulcan character, T’Lyn joining the crew. Looks like super fun to me. All of these look like fun. All of these look like more of the same stuff that we know and love, and that’s exactly what I’d like to see with Lower Decks. They’ve been doing a great job so far, and they should nail it with a new season of hijinks and Star Trek coolness.

Star Trek: Lower Decks season 4 comes to Paramount+ on Sept. 7.

Alright, three is enough for me. These are my three most excited for shows from the trailers we got. I’ll probably share some of the other trailers later.

Tuesday Trailerpalooza

Last week, a metric ton of new trailers come out for everything from indie movies to big action movies to TV shows to video games. How am I supposed to keep up with them all? By dumping them on all in a single post on a Tuesday. Go me!

First up is the new movie Bottoms, which looks pretty fun as a silly, potentially raunchy high school teen comedy.

I might for sure give this one a watch if it comes to a theater near me. Could be funny. Could be really bad. There’s only one way to find out. Bottoms comes to theaters on Aug. 25.

Next up, let’s check out the trailer for the second season of Good Omens!

I really enjoyed the book, I really enjoyed the first season, and I’ll be happy to watch a second season. I’m sure they’ll have a ton of fun with this one! I think it’s an entirely new story, since the book didn’t have a sequel. As long as it’s got Neil Gaiman’s seal of approval, I’ll be content.

Good Omens season two comes to Amazon Prime on July 28.

Thirdly, it’s the full trailer for the long-awaited Venture Bros. wrap-up movie, which has the silly title of Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart.

I love the Venture Bros. as much as the next person. I even cosplayed as Henchman 21 at a couple of comic cons. Those pictures exist on the internet. Anyway, as much as I loved the show, I was somebody who got annoyed at how rarely new seasons came out. They were good seasons when they did…but they also rarely accomplished anything, paid off anything or were very memorable for the next five years of new content.

It was a shame when the show got cancelled, but…eh. I’ll gladly watch this movie. Hopefully they do pay off everything they put into this series. Or maybe there will just be more movies.

The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart will come to digital and DVD at the end of July.

Lastly, for now, we got a full game trailer for Moral Kombat 1.

I’ve played pretty much every Mortal Kombat game of the modern era. I’ll probably play this one at some point. Looks fine. No sign of Smoke, though, so perhaps I’ll have to wait for Mortal Kombat 2. I’m sure this one will be as fun as all the others.

Mortal Kombat 1 comes out on Sept. 19.

TV Trailer Monday Doesn’t Have the Same Ring

It’s Monday again, like always. And I’ve got to fill the void with something. Last Monday, I have movie trailers, and Movie Trailer Monday had some good alliteration. But TV Trailer Monday doesn’t have the same ring to it. What’s up with that? What kind of clown show am I running here?

But hey, how about a trailer for the fifth and final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel!

I really like this show and I’m very excited for the final season. The fourth season was an interesting one, and it ended on a really strong note. And I think the promise is there to go out in a really special way. At least I hope so. Trailer looks OK, at least. The final season comes to Amazon Prime on April 14.

Next up is the trailer for the second season of Sweet Tooth on Netflix. I enjoyed the first season and am definitely looking forward to a second.

Is it the final season? Considering how Netflix runs, probably. Hopefully it ends well too, when it’s suddenly cancelled between seasons. A cliffhanger would be a real bummer. But the action looks good, the stakes look raised, and everything seems quality to me. So my hopes are up.

Sweet Tooth returns on April 27.

Dueling TV Show Trailers

Yesterday, in my quest to find something new to post about, I found a pair of brand new trailers for some upcoming streaming TV shows that seem remarkably similar. They’re both spy shows that are also romances between a man and a woman, and both star some famous Hollywood folks. Neat!

First up is the better of the two, in my opinion. This is Ghosted, starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, which is coming to AppleTV+ on April 21.

I really like this one! It’s funny, it’s charming, it’s got a nifty premise; seems really fun. And obviously Evans and de Armas are really entertaining people. I think I might actually watch this one.

Next up is Citadel, which seems far more generic. It’s produced by the Russo Brothers, so that’s nice. And it stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. This one lacks the charm of Ghosted.

Honestly, I can’t even remember what this one is about…zing! Yeah, something about memory loss and true love? Doesn’t looka s appealing, but perhaps it will still be fun. Citadel is coming to Amazon Prime on April 28.
