6 Thoughts on the First Season of Ahsoka (Review)
Another Star Wars TV show has come and gone and I was very excited for this one. Like everyone else in the fandom, I had no faith in Ahsoka Tano when she was first introduced as the kiddie character in a new Star Wars cartoon way back in the day. But she’s now one of my all-time favorite Star Wars characters, and I was very excited for her show. Now that it’s over…meh.
TV Show Rating: 6/10 – Pretty Good
Ahsoka Tano is a very fun character and she’s had a great story. And I really like Rosario Dawson’s live action version. But the Ahsoka show was ultimately a bit of a disappointment in the end. I enjoyed the show for the most part and had high hopes, but I’m not overall happy with the final product. It’s well-made, well-acted, has some neat parts; but the first season didn’t really accomplish much, in my opinion.
Join me after the jump for my full thoughts and review of the first season of Ahsoka. Expect FULL SPOILERS for the whole season. And feel free to share your own thoughts and feelings in the comments below.

It’s one of those Mondays where I don’t have anything to share, but I want to post something, so I’m digging up this trailer from a week or two ago for the upcoming animated Disney movie Wish. I don’t like Wish. I don’t like these trailers. I don’t like the characters, the jokes or, especially, the talking goat. Alan Tudyk is a national treasure…but man, I hate his talking goat.
The premise seems OK…but also really crummy. Gah. I don’t like how I hate everything about this trailer. The main character, Asha, seems like she was written by committee looking to make the human equivalent of ‘plucky’. The villain seems pretty dull. I’m not entirely sure what’s even happening in the story. And the talking goat is such a ‘talking animal sidekick’ cliche to the max, and I hate the talking animal sidekick cliche with a passion.
But it’s Monday, and I wanted to share something, so mission accomplished. Wish is coming to theaters sometime around Thanksgiving.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/7/23
This was a crazy week for comics! New, highly anticipated comics, like Transformers and G.O.D.S.! Big comics like the new Batman! So many comics that I had to skip some of those I enjoy just to fit them all in during my week!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Birds of Prey #2 for a really stylish issue that does a lot of really cool things with art and color.
Meanwhile, I enjoyed the final episode of Ahsoka, though the series overall was rather disappointing. Thankfully, the first episode of Loki season 2 was a hoot! So the shows just keep coming. And Cyberpunk 2077 is as fun as I remember, though it’s not all that different from the first time I played at launch. Still generally fun.
Comic Reviews: Batman #138, Birds of Prey #2, G.O.D.S. #1, Transformers #1 and X-Men #27.

They’re doing a Toxic Avenger reboot! It’s a classic 1980s Troma film…that I never actually watched as a kid. Nope, but I was a huge fan of the Toxic Crusaders, that kid-friendly cartoon version! So at least I have that. But I’m definitely going to try to catch this new Toxic Avenger reboot, full of Troma glory.
It’s an R-rated trailer, so you’re gonna have to click through to YouTube to watch it.
Peter Dinklage as Toxie sounds great. This looks gross and silly and awesome. Should be a lot of fun whenever we get to see it. Apparently it premiered at a film festival a week or two ago…but I can’t find anything online about where or when it will be released to the public. I hope it is someday!

Statham + Action Movie + January = The Beekeeper
For today’s Movie Trailer Thursday, we’ve got The Beekeeper. It appears to be a generic Jason Statham action movie scheduled to come out in January, the dumping ground of movies. Though this one is directed by David Ayer, so that’s a really good sign. But still…man…this looks generic as all hell.
It also looks fun. But it also looks like it gave away all the best moments in the trailer. So maybe we just all enjoy this fun/silly trailer and move on with our lives.
The Beekeepers comes out on January 12.
