Yep, I’ll Be Buying LEGO Marvel Superheroes the Game
I recently beat LEGO Batman 2 the other day, and it was a load of fun. And then just like real life, LEGO Marvel Superheroes looks even better! Check out this Comic-Con trailer.
I did not know that the Blob was in the game. That is awesome. I am a huge Blob fan, and I definitely intended that pun. You’ll see how much of a Blob fan I am soon (hint, hint). But for now, that game looks fantastic. And big. Clearly it is also big.
Things That Make Me Happy: Action Figures of My Favorite Characters
I’m a pretty big action figure guy. I’ve been that way since I was a kid. They’re one of the purest forms of superhero memorabilia, and I just love collecting them and putting them on display on my Geek Wall…ladies. Anyway, Comic-Con is usually a great place for companies to show off their latest action figures. Comic-Con International was no exception, and I spotted some awesome action figures I’ll want to grab when they go on sale!
Such as Songbird, who recently topped my list for characters who should be Avengers.
Unfortunately, she’s wearing her crummy new costume, where she looks like some shrill punk rocker. Ugh. Still, Songbird action figure!
Then there’s Boomerang, the star of the new Superior Foes of Spider-Man comic, which I loved.
Fortunately, he’s wearing his awesome new costume! So I’m excited about that. I’ve got to get Boomerang. He’s a must.
And here’s Batroc ze Leaper! He’s going to be appearing in the upcoming Captain America sequel.
Though he probably won’t look quite so ridiculous.
You can check out the full list of new Marvel action figures by clicking here. Sadly, no Multiple Man, yet again.
First Look at Nova Costume!
Marvel Studios indisputably confirmed this past weekend that the Nova Corps would be in Guardians of the Galaxy, which means that someone must have read my List of Six about the things I want to see in the movie. Nova Corps was #2 on my list. So I am very, very excited about this confirmation.
For those who don’t know, the Nova Corps are intergalactic space cops. Using the rocket-like power of the Nova Force, they patrol the cosmos ensuring law and order. They’re pretty much a knock-off of the Green Lantern Corps from over at DC Comics, but something tells me Guardians of the Galaxy is going to be a much better movie than Green Lantern. Just a hunch.
Unfortunately, as excited as I am to see the Nova Corps on screen, I am less than thrilled at their costumes. Join me after the jump to see the uniforms in all their glory!
Review: Ultimate Comics: All-New Spider-Man #25
If you couldn’t wait another moment for Miles Morales to become Spider-Man again, then your prayers have been answered! Our young hero dons the red and blacks at the end of this issue, when character after character either yells at him or guilt trips him into just doing it already. Part of it feels anti-climactic. We knew Miles would be Spider-Man again, but I was hoping for some kind of big moment where he couldn’t help but to put on the costume again. Instead, writer Brian Michael Bendis gives us a talking heads issue, where everybody simply points out that he should be Spider-Man. Why didn’t any of them mention this to Miles over the past year if all it took was a strong talking to?
Usually I love Bendis’ talking heads issues, but this one failed to impress. It’s still a good issue, and I’m glad Miles is Spider-Man again, but I feel it should have taken something a lot more dramatic to get him to put on the costume once again.
Comic Rating: 7/10 – Good.
I guess I was hoping for some kind of big, dramatic moment. Like maybe Miles’ dad’s life in in jeopardy. Or a big super-villain is going to destroy the city. Or anything, really. Maybe he has to reveal himself to save his girlfriend, Kate Bishop. Anything would have been better than Miles simply being talked into it. The people doing the talking are all favorites of mine – especially Spider-Woman – but I guess I just wanted something more. Still, it’s good to have Miles back in costume. I want to see some quality Spider-Man action, and Bendis has yet to truly disappoint in that regard.
Speaking of which, I hope the rumors that the Ultimate Universe is going to end in the upcoming Cataclysm storyline aren’t true. Or, well, I don’t mind if the rest of the Ultimate books are cancelled, just so long as the story of Miles Morales gets to continue. And I don’t mean it gets to continue with him joining the Exiles or coming to the regular Marvel Universe. No thank you. I just want to read the uncomplicated, highly-entertaining story of the new Ultimate Spider-Man.
Also, anyone super excited for Cloak and Dagger might also be disappointed with this issue, because their one scene is just another flashback that’s more weird than good. Oh well. Still a solid comic, and the next issue will hopefully be fantastic.

So Many Comic-Con Trailers!
This has been one heck of a Comic-Con. I wish I was there and could give you guys and gals the news directly, but for now, I’m sitting here reading about it online like the rest of you. I’m always watching some awesome trailers – at least the ones that are being released to the public. But I am not a picky guy. I’ll watch whatever they give me. And I’ll also share it with you fine people.
Arrow, Season 2:
That looks cool. Ollie going through some personal crisis. Felicity creating a new Arrow Cave. A possible name change (good!). Roy Harper doing more to become a hero. And I’m pretty sure that was Black Canary at the end! Arrow Season 2 looks like it’s going to be a blast.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
I loved the first film, and it looks like I’m going to love the second film. I’ve never read the books, so I don’t know what to expect, so this is the first time I’ve heard that Katniss has to compete in a second Hunger Games. I had no idea that’s what happened. I thought the sequel was just going to be about the political stuff, which I really enjoy. One of my favorite scenes in the first film was when District 11 tried to revolt. So I’m excited for this sequel.
The Walking Dead Season 4
Also good. All of these trailers are awesome. Walking Dead’s going to deal with a larger group now, with more deaths, and some internal drama. I like the sound of all of that.
