A Free Twist for the Teen Titans in the New 52
Teen Titans just isn’t a very good comic book. Not even a relaunch with a new #1 issue and a new creative team could pull this book out of the doldrums. But I remain hopeful that the troubles can be turned around. There’s a great comic hidden down deep in Teen Titans. It still has potential. I even have a few ideas how to fix it.
But even with my upcoming attempts to break into the comic book industry, I doubt DC is going to hand me the reigns of Teen Titans anytime soon.
Since it’ll be awhile before DC likes me enough to write their comics, I’ve decided to drop the best idea I have right here on the Internet for all of you. I have plenty of ideas how to fix Teen Titans — and you can read a few here — but my biggest idea is a twist that would not only solve a few problems, but could give the book the kick in the butt it needs! I’m talking the sort of twist that would totally break the series and supercharge it in an exciting new direction!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 1/10/15
Prepare for some reading, my friends. We’ve got a very interesting stack of comics this week, and I was apparently in a wordy mood. I wrote a little more in depth than usual, especially for the first issue of the new Ant-Man series. What can I say? After that great first trailer, and all the other neat Ant-Man stuff coming out this week, I was really in the mood to dive in.
Ant-Man #1 captures Comic Book of the Week for its funny, heartfelt introduction. It’s clear from this first issue that Marvel really wants to do right by Ant-Man ahead of his movie. This isn’t just a cheap movie tie-in, this is a legitimately interesting comic.
Stiff competition came in the form of the first issue of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1, one of the funniest comics I’ve read in a long time. I’ve included some choice moments in my review. We’ve also got a new Amazing Spider-Man, the second issue of Angela: Asgard’s Assassin, and another crummy Batman Eternal.
You can also check out my review of Peggy Carter’s new Operation S.I.N. #1 over at Word of the Nerd. Much like the Agent Carter TV show, the comic is quite entertaining.
Comic Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man #12, Angela: Asgard’s Assassin #2, Ant-Man #1, Batman Eternal #40 and Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1.
The Internet Will Continue to Do What It Does Best
Here are the Ghostbusters re-imagined as a 1980s anime, because that’s the sort of thing the Internet does.
Or more specifically, the team at Nacho Punch put it together. They did a great job! This is the sort of funny little thing the Internet churns out at a solid pace.

Gamer Girl & Vixen #1 is in Production!
Hey gang! I haven’t talked about my comic book for awhile, what with the holidays being particularly lazy and all, but it’s the new year and production on Gamer Girl & Vixen #1 is in full swing! Gemma Moody is penciling the opening pages and they look gorgeous! Even better than the work she did for us this past Fall. That girl must have gone out and grinding some forest boars, because her art skill definitely leveled up!
Check out this romantic icon she made for us to use on social media!
That’s just adorable! We need to get that on T-shirts, or at the very least, on those little paper Valentines that kids hand out at school on Valentine’s Day. Remember those? Do kids even still do that kind of thing? Our romance comic is definitely going to have to come up with something awesome for Valentine’s Day. That’s just good marketing.
You know what, I’m in the mood to share a bit more. I don’t want to give to much away, but if you join me after the jump, I think I’ll sneak some early artwork into my blog today to give everybody a little peek! Maybe if the response is right, I’ll sneak some more out for you guys next week!
Daredevil is Getting All Manner of Serious
The new Daredevil TV show (I can’t believe I wrote those words!) will premiere on April 10 on Netflix, putting it ahead of Avengers: Age of Ultron! There’s even a nifty teaser trailer.
This show is getting really serious! It’s really going to come out! I’m still in a bit of shock at the whole idea of these Netflix Defenders. Can Marvel pull it off as well as they have their Cinematic Universe? All signs point to definitely. Man, this is going to be a great year for comic book fans!
