My 6 Favorite Multiple Man Comics
As I’ve mentioned multiple times on this blog, my all-time favorite comic book character is Jamie Madrox the Multiple Man. I discovered him just as I was getting into comics in the early 1990s — which is about when he achieved his first real taste of prominence — and his style, unique powers and sarcastic sense of humor solidified him as my guy.
This week, the first issue of the new Dazzler mini-series is coming out from Marvel Comics, and it will feature Multiple Man in a supporting role. Writer Jason Loo has been on quite the journey at Marvel since bursting onto the scene with his own love of Multiple Man, and I can’t wait to read Dazzler to see what he does with the characters in an actual, published comic (Loo has been doing great work with Madrox in the digital only Infinity comics).
To honor this new comic with Multiple Man in a supporting role, I decided to rank my favorite comics that have featured Multiple Man as a main or supporting character! Just for funsies, really.

It’s another lazy week for me and comic book reviews. Just a pair of comics to check out, both of them more than good and both showing off a lot of potential. So that’s fun!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Uncanny X-Men #2 because I liked it just a little bit more than Avengers Assemble #1.
Meanwhile, i’m still enjoying Star Wars: Outlaws. It’s a fun game. A solid 7/10 from me. It’s not as polished or as deep as I would love, but I’m enjoying the surface level open world and mission structure. The perfect sort of game to just play and enjoy to kill the time I dedicate to video games each week.
Comic Reviews: Avengers Assemble #1 and Uncanny X-Men #2.

We got a new trailer today for Venom: The Last Dance and it has a surprising villain appearance! One probably could have made an educated guess about this character showing up, but I’ve been focused entirely on hoping that Juno Temple becomes Scream.
No sign of Scream, but this trailer introduces Knull as the villain! Man, that’s a big swing. Personally, I’m no Knullhead. Dude was a lot of flash and boasting when he headlined a Venom-centric Big Event, but Venom gets one of those every year. Heck, there’s currently Venom War going on in the comics, so it’s not like the symbiotes are underutilized. But more power to the movie for bringing in Knull.
And surely Juno Temple is going to become Scream, right?! You wasted Jenny Slate in the first movie, surely you’re not going to waste Juno Temple!
Venom: The Last Dance comes to theaters on Oct. 25.

My New Favorite Sonic Character is Surge the Tenrec
OK, so feel free to ignore this post completely because it’s just some silly stream of consciousness nonsense I wanted to write. I don’t really engage in Sonic the Hedgehog media. I don’t play the games, watch the shows or read the comics. But in my random stumbling through the internet, I have discovered a silly factoid that I want to share: There exists a character named Surge the Tenrec in the Sonic the Hedgehog Universe, and she’s my new favorite.
Longtime readers of this blog might know that Knuckles the Echidna is my all-time favorite comic book character, and that remains true. (Remember when Knuckles had his own live action TV show, and it came out earlier this year?!). But Surge the Tenrec, man…this is crazy.
Why is Surge the Tenrec my new favorite, you may ask? I can answer that question by posing another question: What the heck is a Tenrec?!
Surely you’ve asked yourself that very question upon seeing the headline of this blog post. Surely you’ve already gone to Google, like I did, to find out. If you haven’t, let me save you the search.
This is a tenrec:
It’s a real animal! It’s a little shrew-like mammal that lives exclusively on Madagascar. I’d never heard of a tenrec in all my years on this planet, until randomly stumbling upon this character. Did her creator already know about tenrecs and always wanted to create an original Sonic mammal character? Did they spend time searching up hedgehog-like animals to turn into new Sonic characters?!
I don’t know why I find this fascinating, I just do. Surge is pretty much exclusive to the new IDW comics, but it seems she’s been in the Sonic Rush mobile game too. Maybe she’ll appear elsewhere someday.
I just think it’s really, really nifty that a tenrec is a real creature and has now been turned into one of these tiny, furry mammal Sonic characters. What a world.

TV Trailer Tuesday: The Franchise
It’s another slow week for anything happening in the world that I actually want to post about. I’m not going to post anything about the presidential debate. That’s not what I’m doing with my life. So instead, how about this quickie trailer for a new HBO show called The Franchise.
Looks fun. I’ll probably watch it one of these days. Looks like a quality coterie of comedic actors putting on a show. That’s exactly what I want from a quality TV show. So hopes are high for The Franchise at HBO, which comes out on Oct. 6, so less than a month from now!
