Tell It Animated Does Harley Quinn

The Tell It Animated channel on YouTube is one that needs more recognition. This guy is doing great work! So I’m glad to do my part to always share his videos with you, my loyal and random blog readers. Surely we can turn the tide and make this dude famous, right? If it helps, his new video is on Harley Quinn!

Another excellent video! And I’d love one based on Harley Quinn’s video game appearances. Though, as always, my recommendation for his next video is Robin. He’s circling the Batman family tree pretty hard, and there are plenty of good Robin options out there! Early serials, ’60s Batman, Animated Series, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Titans, Teen Titans, Teen Titans Go!, Dark Knight Rises; the list goes on and on! Plenty of Robin fodder!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/4/21

Boy howdy, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a lot of fun and it’s good to have another Marvel movie under our belts! Expect my review/thoughts on Wednesday, like usual! Other than that, this was an oddly light week for me, with only a couple of DC Comics to enjoy.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Static: Season One #3 for an all-around really good comic book.

Needs a coat?

Meanwhile, to reiterate, I really enjoyed Shang-Chi and look forward to going again in a couple of weeks when the theater will be less crowded. That should be fun! And not that you have to do anything, but my birthday is on Monday. Just letting you know.

Comic Reviews: Batman: Fear State Alpha #1, Static: Season One #3 and Wonder Girl #3.

Midnight Suns is Going to Be All About Tank Tops

I have taken a particular interest in the upcoming Marvel video game Midnight Suns. I’m a huge fan of the XCOM series, and the idea of taking one of those games and filling it with Marvel superheroes sounds fun! And yesterday we got our first look at the actual gameplay instead of just pre-rendered cut scenes.

And I gotta say…everybody’s wearing tank tops in this game.

Right? Everybody dresses down casually at some point in this game and has a themed tank top. Kinda neat!

All kidding aside, I have no idea what to make of that actual gameplay footage. It looks to be built on the foundation of XCOM, but there are cards? And big special moves? Looks like it could be cool. I’m definitely looking forward to trying this game out.

Midnight Suns comes out in March.

Top 6 Comic Book Martial Artists (Not Named Shang-Chi)

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is only a day away for yours truly! I can’t wait! Word has it that the martial arts action in this movie is going to be off the chain! Who doesn’t love a good martial arts action movie? Who doesn’t love a good martial arts action superhero?

Appearing soon on the big screen

To celebrate the new movie, I’ve decided to list a bunch of other awesome martial arts characters in comics. Obviously, a ton of characters know how to fight and do martial arts. Batman is one of the world’s best fighters in the DC Universe. So this list is specifically for characters whose whole schtick is being a martial arts master. That is their general aesthetic. And I think I’ve picked out some pretty good ones!

There Is Still Time for James Bond to Die

There’s still a new James Bond movie coming out. No Time To Die is — as of this post — sticking to its Oct. 8 release date, despite multiple delays due to the pandemic. They’re so confident in the release, there’s a new trailer out today. And sure enough, it looks like a character named James Bond is going to get up to various shooty stuff, with some car stuff as well.

So, like…are we supposed to remember everything that’s happened in Daniel Craig’s James Bond series? The last film came out six years ago! Am I really supposed to have remembered his love interest from that film and all of her various secrets? Let alone everything that happened in Quantum of Solace?

I guess I’ll find out in a couple of weeks!
