6 Thoughts on the First Season of Peacemaker
Welp, here we are. After all the movies, all the drama, all the weird plans and random spin-offs. After all the acting controversies and reboots and new directions. After all that stuff, we finally have the best thing to come out of the DC Expanded Universe, and it’s a TV show about Peacemaker. How did this even happen?
TV Show Rating: 10/10 – Fantastic!
I’ll be frank, I’m not the biggest fan of the DCEU. I don’t particularly like Zack Snyder’s various Justice League movies, and I endlessly chortle at DC’s failure to ape the winning formula of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But I’ve watched it all, because I’m a sucker for superheroes, and I can confidently declare that Peacemaker is as good as it gets. There’s even a very strong chance that I’ve enjoyed Peacemaker more than every Marvel TV show so far. Blasphemy, I know, but Peacemaker is that damn good (I’ll probably walk back that claim pretty quickly in the long run). Peacemaker is damn fine TV and I’m so glad more seasons have already been ordered.
Join me after the jump for my full thoughts and review of the first season of Peacemaker. Expect FULL SPOILERS for the series as a whole. And feel free to share your own thoughts/review in the comments!

The Green Goblin and I have a troubling history. I know he’s one of Spider-Man’s most famous villains, with along history. But I loved the Phil Urich Green Goblin series from the 1990s, so I will always prefer that Goblin. Still, I can appreciate all the Norman and Harry Osborn looks.
Tell It Animated remains a banger of a YouTube channel and I hope this dude is making all the money on Patreon. These videos are funny, clever and really well done. A quaint bit of pop culture enjoyment that randomly comes along every couple of months or so.
As always, if he’s reading this, I recommend Robin for his next video!

Strong Guy Watch: Wolverine Team-Up
This blog, the one you’re reading right now, remains the #1 place on the internet to track where Strong Guy shows up in comics. I’ve been doing it for a couple of years now and am still having fun. People actually pay attention. And Strong Guy remains both cool and used in random appearances.
The latest continues to be the Marvel Unlimited X-Men comic. Last issue Strong Guy showed up in an awesome adventure with his best pal, Madrox the Multiple Man. In the newest issue, released last week, Strong Guy has a team-up with Mr. X-Man himself, Wolverine!
I won’t spoil what the duo get up to in this issue, but how cool is it that Guido gets to be written and drawn by Declan Shalvey? And he gets a team-up with Wolverine? Krakoa has been really good to our boy Strong Guy, and I look forward to pointing out more of his random awesome appearances.
Keep watching the comics, Strong Guy Watchers!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 2/19/22
What a great week for comics! The new version of Comixology sucks total garbage, but at least this week had some really great reads. From Nightwing to X-Men, I really enjoyed the content, if not the means.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Power Rangers #16 for an excellent wrap-up to their latest big story. Lots of great character moments in this issue, and I could have used so many more.
Meanwhile, the Peacemaker TV show nailed the landing and I’ll have my full review and thoughts posted on Wednesday! Such a great show! I’m also currently battling desires to buy Horizon Forbidden West. I only have a Playstation 4 and I’m fairly certain it’s going to look fine for my standards, but the temptation to also buy a Playstation 5 and a big screen, 4K television is strong.
Comic Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man #88, Nightwing #89, Power Rangers #16, Thor #22 and X-Men #8.

I’ve reached a point in my love of LEGO that seeing a good set can take my breathe away. Such was the case with this new LEGO Tallneck set from Horizon Zero Dawn, a really awesome video game for the Playstation. Just look at this big, beautiful boy!
So much detail, so much perfection, so many little accessories; this thing is a work of art. It helps that I absolutely loved the Horizon Zero Dawn game and can’t wait to play the sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, which comes out today. The game isn’t a day-one buy, but I will immediately snatch up this LEGO set when it comes out at the end of May.
I’m just amazed at the level of detail and the finely designed pieces. It’s just so damn beautiful! And it’s only going to set me back $80, which isn’t half bad. Now I just gotta be patient and snag a box when the time is right!
