Avalanche Didn’t Make the X-Men
The new X-Men roster was unveiled in the new Hellfire Gala event comic yesterday. I really enjoyed the issue, and I super enjoy the whole Hellfire Gala concept. It’s a really fun yearly event. And I still love the idea of voting for the X-Men roster. This is who they picked:
I like the team. Solid core with Cyclops, Jean and Synch, and the other choices are cool. I’m sure wirter Gerry Duggan has plenty of good plans for them. Iceman is one of my favorite X-Men, so I’m glad he’s on the team. And Firestar is an inspired choice. But no sign of Mimic, Multiple Man, Blob, Toad or even Abyss. Maybe someday.
(Still no signs of Mimic at all on Krakoa…)
Anyway, I voted for Avalanche to join, but he didn’t make the cut.
Oh well. There’s always next year! I should do a List of Six on which mutants I want voted onto the core X-Men team. Should be a good year of X-Men comics!

6 Thoughts on Thor: Love and Thunder (Review)
I loved Thor: Ragnarok. It was one of the best, funniest movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I love the other works of director Taika Waititi. The dude is very creative and does good work. So I, like most people, was super excited for his direct follow-up, Thor: Love and Thunder. And I really like the movie, I think Thor: Love and Thunder is good. But all of the pieces were there where it could have been great.
Movie Rating: 7/10 – Good
I think my voice is just one in a multitude chorus of people having the same response to Love and Thunder. It’s not as good as Ragnarok. It’s still good and entertaining. But man, it’s nowhere near as amazing as we all hoped it would be. That’s a shame. But it’s not the end of the world. There are still a lot of great aspects about the movie to enjoy. And I would definitely recommend anybody to give it a watch. This is not the death knell of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, no matter what the haters say.
Join me after the jump for my full thoughts and review on Thor: Love and Thunder! Expect FULL SPOILERS for the whole movie. And feel free to share your own thoughts in the comments!

We’ve got an even bigger and better trailer for season 3 of Harley Quinn, which is coming to HBO Max at the end of this month. I love this show. It’s pretty much perfect. And I can only imagine it’s going to get even better in season 3! Largely because we’re getting Nightwing!
We’ve also got Harley and Poison Ivy in a relationship, with promises from the showrunners that they’re not going to break them up or fill their relationship with a bunch of will they/won’t they nonsense. They’re a same sex couple and they’re damn proud and awesome about it. So great! And Joker is running for mayor! That sounds fun too!
I can’t wait for Harley Quinn season 3, kicking off on July 28.

Check Out This Sweet Dragonball Z Fan Animation
The internet gives us many things. Some good, some really bad. But sometimes you stumble upon a really awesome Dragonball Z fan animation by the good folks at Studio Stray Dog.
I like Dragonball Z as much as the next person, and this video is cool as heck! That is some smooth and gorgeous animation. Some great voices. And some really awesome interpretations of classic DBZ characters. This is everything one could want in a fan video. Kudos to the whole team at Studio Stray Dog!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/9/22
For reasons I will never understand, this week featured a deluge of comics for me! I don’t read everything; I pretty much read and review what I want. And a ton of the ongoing series I read came out this week, like Amazing Spider-Man, Mighty Morphin, Saga and more!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Batman #125 for a truly excellent start to Chip Zdarsky’s much anticipated Batman run! Though I do have a bone to pick with him…
Meanwhile, I saw Thor: Love and Thunder and really enjoyed it! Not as good as Ragnarok, but I had a good enough time. Beyond that, I’ve been watching Mythic Quest on AppleTV+ and it’s as good as everybody says! That’s fun. And I splurged on the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition during the Steam Summer Sale, so I’ve been enjoying a return to that franchise. I never played Mass Effect 3, so it’ll be fun when I finally get there.
Comic Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man #5, Batman #125, Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #2, Legion of X #3, Mighty Morphin #21, Poison Ivy #2, Saga #60, Strange Academy #18 and The X-Cellent #5.
