How About a Second Season of The Wheel of Time?
I’m back home from my trip to New York City, recovering from all the new bruises I got from being outside my comfort zone. Ow. Anyway, it’s a Tuesday, there’s not a lot going on, I missed yesterday; how about a trailer for a second season of The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime?
I barely remember the first season. I know I liked it, definitely liked it more than I guess the general consensus. Something about a chosen one? If you haven’t seen the first season, the trailer gives away which character is the chosen one. But I think I only recognized some of the actors in that trailer, and only a little bit of the plot. Oh well. I’ll probably watch a recap video on YouTube and then dive into season 2 at some point.
The Wheel of Time season 2 comes out on Sept. 1.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 8/12/23
If you’re reading this when it posts on Saturday, I should be in New York City visiting Flame Con, the world’s premiere LGBTQ+ comic book convention! I’m going to meet the artist on my next Gamer Girl & Vixen graphic novel. I’ll have more to share about that soon, but it’s her first time on the East Coast, and it makes for a nice day trip for me!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Superman Annual #1 for a whole and hearty issue that does a lot with the ongoing story, while setting up even more! I don’t know if I’ve ever been this excited about Lobo.
Meanwhile, Baldur’s Gate 3 proceeds in spectacular fashion. I’ve currently got three games going, a co-op game with a friend where I’m a wild magic sorcerer, a solo game where I’m a heroic half-orc bard and a third game where I’m going to try to be evil. I normally hate being evil in games, but the evil route seems to have a lot of interesting differences.
Comic Reviews: Avengers #4, Immortal X-Men #14 and Superman Annual #1.

Look, it’s been a hectic week, and I’m about to head on a trip into New York City by the end of today. So I’mma just gonna share this Adam Sandler Netflix movie trailer, because I don’t have many other options today. Not a lot of content has come out to share.
Some people don’t like that Sandler just makes movies with his friends, and they probably won’t like that he’s now just putting his daughters into his movies. But I don’t mind. Like I said, I like Adam Sandler. Netflix keeps throwing money at him to make movies, and if he wants to use that money to put his daughters into his movies, that’s fine by me. Maybe they’ll be good actors. Maybe nobody needs to watch this film.
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah comes to Netflix on Aug. 25.

The Continental Doesn’t Look Half Bad
I still think it’s a little bit of a stretch to make a TV show about the hotel from John Wick. But Hollywood can spend their money on whatever they want, I’ll probably watch. This trailer looks pretty cool as an action, gunfire sort of show set in the 1970s. That’s a solid premise.
I’ll try to give The Continental a watch. I wonder if it’s gonna end with a baby John Wick coming into the hotel. We’ll see. Again, it looks like a perfectly fun action show. And it’s only 3 episodes long. That works for me.
The Continental comes to Peacock on Sept. 22.

6 Thoughts on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (Review)
I’m a big fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I was born in 1983 and the classic Ninja Turtles cartoon came out in 1987, so I was the perfect age to get hooked for life to those super fun adventures and all those collectible toys. I’ve caught most or some of every Turtles adaptation since, though even I haven’t been able to keep up completely. Still, I am fully on board with TMNT: Mutant Mayhem and everything it has to offer.
Movie Rating: 9/10 – Great
I have been very excited for this film since it was first announced. Seth Rogen is using his power in Hollywood for awesome adaptations, from Preacher to Invincible to now a really great take on the Turtles. And then we got some trailers, met the characters and now we’ve seen the flick. It was marvelous, and a great new take on this beloved franchise. Mutant Mayhem is one of the best movies of the year, hands down, and I hope it drives Turtles content for years to come.
Maybe it’ll get me to finally start reading all those IDW hardcover Turtles comics I keep buying…
Join me after the jump for my fully review/thoughts on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Expect FULL SPOILERS for the movie. And feel free to share your own thoughts in the comments below.
