Check Out Rick and Morty’s New Voices

The next season of Rick and Morty comes out next month, and with it new voices for the main characters. Original voice actor and co-creator Justin Roiland was revealed to be a super creep, so he’s out. They hired sound-alikes to do the voices of Rick and Morty and you can check out how well they do in this new trailer.

I think they’re fine. Sometimes you can’t tell there’s a difference, and sometimes you really can. I don’t think it’s going to bother me. I’ll definitely still watch and enjoy the new season. I’ve started watching Solar Opposites with the new voice, and it’s fine. We’ll all get through this.

Rick and Morty season 7 comes to Cartoon Network on Oct. 15.

New/Old Doctor Who Incoming!

There’s a new bunch of Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials coming up, and they will hopefully be good! I still haven’t watched the final season of Jodie Whittaker’s run, because those seasons weren’t as good. But David Tennant is back! And Catherine Tate, my favorite companion! I have no real opinion on Russell T. Davies. I prefer Steven Moffat, but that’s neither here nor there.

Check out this trailer for the Doctor Who specials! Nothing is really spoiled, other than the actors already announced as playing the Doctor.

Looks like a lot of fun! I really want to get caught up on that season I’ve missed and be back on board Doctor Who. The show will always be great. Just gotta find the time and energy to get caught up. If everything moves to Disney+, that will help, since not everybody has every streaming service.

I very much look forward to more Donna Noble! The three specials arrive on…wherever these things currently stream…in November.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/23/23

What an interesting week for comics! We’ve got a couple of new #1 relaunches, and DC Comics comes back after an event that stymied their titles for two months. Lot of great reads this week, including Nightwing, Captain America and Superman!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Wonder Woman #1 for a very strong, very powerful first issue that absolutely nails the tone its going for right off the bat.

Mission statement

Meanwhile, my time with Baldur’s Gate is winding down. I beat the game with a co-op friend finally, and now I’m just going to go through the motions to finish off some solo games, or put them on hold to wait for some game fixes. We’re a month away from the new Spider-Man 2 game, so I’ve got to get ready for that.

Comic Reviews: Captain America #1, Nightwing #106, Superman #6, Titans #3 and Wonder Woman #1.

There’s Gonna Be More Out Flag Means Death

Our Flag Means Death is a super fun pirate show, and one that evolved into a really fun pirate love story. And thankfully, we’re going to get a second season, and we’re going to get it soon! So good TV all around.

Taika Waititi and Rhys Darby are pretty damn perfect in this show, with a great supporting cast around them. The pirate stuff has also been really fun. They put the production into it. So if you’ve slept on this show already, give it a watch and get caught up, because it’s coming back!

Our Flag Means Death returns to Max on Oct. 5.

Have You Heard of The Creator?

There’s a new sci-fi movie coming out next week about a futuristic robot uprising. It’s called The Creator, and I think it’s flying under a lot of radars. It’s made by Gareth Edwards, the guy behind Star Wars: Rogue One, so it’s probably going to be good. I’ve slept on this one all summer, but trailers like this one are getting me very interested.

This looks really cool. It also looks really dense, like one of those sci-fi films that maybe goes too hard into the sci-fi and loses audiences. I don’t know and won’t know for sure until I’m actually in the theater watching this thing next week. Thankfully, it will be playing in my local theater, so I’ll get a chance to watch and decide for myself!

The Creator comes out on Sept. 29.
