They’re Going All In With an Animated Mortal Kombat Movie, Apparently
I just heard of this movie and I think it’s rather silly. The people behind Mortal Kombat are coming out with a new straight-to-DVD animated film called Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge. I think the idea is pretty cool, but the execution looks tame.
From that trailer, it looks like they’re just going to do the first Mortal Kombat tournament all over again. How many times do we need this event portrayed? Why does everybody think that’s the most interesting story in Mortal Kombat lore? Hell, the title of the film is about Scorpion, and he seems to be a major player in the movie…why not just do that?
Do the people behind Mortal Kombat really think we care about Liu Kang, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade? When you’ve got a cool story like that of Scorpion vs. Sub-Zero, why would anybody want Liu Kang to show up?
Last year, I did my own write-up on a plot for a Mortal Kombat movie, one that focused on the second Sub-Zero. He’s a far more interesting character with a far more interesting story than any of the regular Earth realmers. Just putting it out there!
Scorpion’s Revenge comes out this spring.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is Another Game I’ll Probably Not Play
I have been weighing my desire to play the Resident Evil 2 remake since it came out a year ago. The original Resident Evil 2 was one of my first must-play video games back when I finally joined the Playstation generation. But even as the RE2 remake goes on sale, I can’t bring myself to buy it and relive the memories!
And the same is likely to happen with the just-announced Resident Evil 3 remake!
I loved Resident Evil 3 just as much as RE2 back in the day! But man…something about these games is keeping me at arm’s length. At least it looks good!
Meanwhile, in other video game news, it’s only been two weeks since my list of my most anticipated games of the year came out…and already half of them have been delayed. Cyberpunk 2077, Avengers and the Final Fantasy VII remake have all been pushed back to the fall. So perhaps I’ll have plenty of time to finally play that RE2 remake…

My 6 Most Anticipated Video Games of 2020
2020 is going to be a great year for video games — hopefully! Around this time of year, I usually put together a list of my most anticipated movies. But honestly, there aren’t too many movies in the new year I’m really excited about. Whereas I’m practically giddy about some of the great video games we’ve got coming up!
Last year wasn’t a big year for video games for me. I spent about 90% of the year just playing Red Dead Redemption Online, and was happy for it. I’m currently loving the heck out of Death Stranding and its meticulous gameplay. And I’ve got a few other games in the pocket to pick up next. Hopefully those will hold me over until some of these gems come out!
Join me after the jump for six video games I am quite excited about in 2020! And feel free to share some of your own anticipated games in the comments!
My 6 Favorite Things of 2019
Happy New Year, everybody! Like pretty much every pop culture site on the internet, I do a round-up for my favorite things of the past year. Unlike all those professional sites with their professional standards and plenty of employees, I just try to bang out my favorites in a couple different categories. Mostly, there were a ton of good TV shows this year!
I had a little trouble coming up with some bonus categories. I don’t really listen to music, so I can’t judge that. And I need to get my Lists of Six up to six. Sometimes I’ve done my favorite toys of the year, but then I didn’t really buy too many memorable action figures or LEGO models. And sometimes I’d done my favorite new thing on the internet, but I don’t think I saw too many new and exciting things. And there weren’t many memorable movie trailers!
So join me after the jump to see what I eventually came up with! Along with my favorite video games, TV shows, movies and comic books! Feel free to share your own favorites in the comments!
Waluigi, Unraveled
Do you henchies watch Brian David Gilbert over at Polygon? He’s a funny guy, and he’s been making some great, humorous, academic video game videos on YouTube for awhile now. This is some hilarious stuff, and I like to share hilarity when I find it!
Behold perhaps his greatest achievement: Waluigi, Unraveled!
That is sheer funny. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did! And I highly recommend going through and watching all of his videos. They’re a gem on this wasteland of an internet.
