6 Thoughts on Game of Thrones Season 3
My favorite TV show on the air right now is HBO’s Game of Thrones. It’s deep, it’s sprawling, and it’s one of the most exciting TV shows I’ve ever seen. Production values are better than most movies these days. And the rich tapestry of characters is unlike any other show in history. That alone makes every episode an adventure, because there are so many characters and so many plots, there’s always something to like. The third season came to an end a few weeks ago, and just as I did for the first season of Arrow, I’ve decided to start reviewing TV seasons in Lists of Six.
I may be a few weeks late, but if you all saw the climax of season 3, then you know stuff like that takes some time to settle in the mind.
This list was suggested by friend-of-the-site Xavier. If you have any List of Six suggestions, or there’s a topic you’d like to see me write about, don’t hesitate to shoot me an e-mail at Hench4Hire@gmail.com.
I’m going to put a SPOILERS tag on this article, just in case some of my readers haven’t seen the full season yet. But at the same time, I’m going to assume anybody eager to read a list like this has already seen season 3. I’m going to be talking about the season and characters in depth, so please be warned. There’s a lot to talk about, I’m sure. And some more professional, academic bloggers might have some more in-depth analysis. But I’m just a dude who likes a TV show, and here are my six thoughts on Season 3 of Game of Thrones!
Gob Bluth stars in Now You See Me
Oh Internet, I love you.
That’s Gob Bluth, from Arrested Development, cleverly inserted into the trailer for the movie Now You Seem Me. The movie is about magicians who turn to crime. Gob is a magician who is simply pretty terrible. The two go together surprisingly well. And for that, I love the Internet, and mix-master James Harrop.
Mighty Morphin’ Power Fellowship, and Other Great Internet Stuff
My friend found the comedy videos of UnusualSuspect2013 today, and they simply have to be shared. I don’t know how someone could get the idea in their head to mash-up the Power Rangers with Lord of the Rings, but they do, and it’s brilliantly fun.
Not only that, but they made one for the Avengers and the A-Team as well!
I say more, UnusualSuspect2013! Make us more!
Wonder Twins to Appear on Teen Titans Go! Because Somebody Up There Likes Me
I haven’t been watching the new Teen Titans Go! cartoon, but clearly I should, because two of my all-time favorite characters are going to make a guest appearance!
The freakin’ Wonder Twins, baby! How cool is that? Somebody out there in TV Land understands the nostalgic fun of the Wonder Twins. If only they’d been allowed to show up on Young Justice while that show was still on the air. No doubt they were saving the Wonder Twins for Season 3.
At any rate, I’m definitely going to have to give this episode a try. It’s called “You’re Fired”, and it’s about the Titans firing Beast Boy and picking up the Wonder Twins to replace him. Sounds like fun to me. There’s also a funny audition sequence, of course.
The episode debuts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on Cartoon Network. Be there!
Hulk: Agents of S.M.A.S.H. Is What It Is
I dunno. This cartoon is not for me. Maybe it’s for you, and maybe people will enjoy it. But for whatever reason, I find myself mostly skipping all these Disney-funded Marvel superhero cartoons.
Is it possible that I’ve finally outgrown childish cartoons? I didn’t respond all that strongly Beware the Batman. And I haven’t seen a single episode of Ultimate Spider-Man. Have I really reached the point in my life where I don’t care about superhero cartoons?
Heavy.
