Couple’a Neato TV Show Trailers

My computer chair broke the other day, and I’ve had to rely on a crappy, older fill-in chair all weekend. It sucks. I hate this chair and don’t wanna be at my computer longer than necessary. Fortunately, my good chair was still under warranty, and a replacement part has been shipped out. Unfortunately, it’s not here yet, so my butt is still stuck with this crummy option.

Either way, best I can do for the blog-loving masses is a couple of cool TV show trailers!

We’ve got Ash vs. Evil Dead:

And The Walking Dead:

So kind of a ‘dead’ theme going on today for some reason…

New Doctor Who Trailer Reminds Us that the Doctor Exists!

Hooray for new Doctor Who stuff! Here’s hoping Season 9 is awesome!

Was I the only one who kind of bristled a little at that last line, about the Doctor and Clara Oswald in the TARDIS? I realize that Clara has been around forever at this point, but I’m still not personally sold on her being such a permanent fixture. It’s weird. But hey, maybe the season will be so good I don’t even notice!

Kid Flash is Going To Be On The Flash TV Show!

I guess the rumors have been circulating, and now we know for sure: Kid Flash will be part of The Flash in season 2! Actor Keiynan Lonsdale has been cast as Wally West! I don’t know if they’ve confirmed that he’ll become the Flash’s sidekick, but he’s gotta, right? If The Flash is willing to do both Reverse Flash and Gorilla Grodd, they’re definitely going to do Kid Flash!

That’s his modern costume, but would they go with old school yellow?

This is pretty exciting news, because as you all know, I love sidekicks. I especially like Wally West as Kid Flash – though I’ll admit that I have no experience with him in the New 52, and I have a feeling that the show will portray a more New 52-ish Wally than the classic comic book Wally. Or maybe they’ll go old school origin and character with new school look. Who knows!

Of course, astute readers with good memories will recall that keeping Kid Flash out of the series was #1 on my list of things I wanted to see on the Flash TV show. But seeing how awesome the first season was, and how eager they were to really delve into stuff from the comics, I’ve changed my mind! Bring on Wally! Bring on Kid Flash! Bring on Season 2!

Once Again, Hawkman is Coming to a Live Action DC Show Before Batman, Wonder Woman or Superman

We all know that Hawkgirl is going to be one of the stars of the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow show. Well apparently, DC Comics and The CW are also going to bring her paramour, Hawkman, into the universe with her! Actor Falk Hentschel has been cast as Hawkman, to appear on Arrow and The Flash!

He was hired for his chest, right?

How insane is this? Believe you me, I’m all in favor of expanding The CWverse. But Hawkman? For reals? They’re gonna try to make Hawkman work?!

Remember when he appeared on Smallville?

Not hired for his chest

Hawkman is an inherently silly character. And why couldn’t Hawkgirl stand on her own? Why does she need Hawkman to show up too? I suppose that’s just nit-picking. I’m gonna love seeing both of them when they appear! (Also in random Hawkman news, I totally bought a Hawkman LEGO mini-fig at Boston Comic-Con this weekend! Woot!).

Also, once again, a live action DC TV show (universe) gets Hawkman before it gets Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman, just like in Smallville. This is a pretty backwards way of thinking.

This also means my hopes of adding the Wonder Twins to The CWverse just got a lot brighter!

Bruce Campbell Remains Amazing

I will go to my grave believing that Bruce Campbell’s greatest role was as Sam Axe on the TV show Burn Notice. But there’s a new Evil Dead TV show coming, and it looks pretty amazing.

Go Bruce Campbell! Ash vs. Evil Dead is going to be on Starz.

I think that’s it for my Comic-Con coverage. This was a pretty awesome convention! We’ve got new Robin comics coming up, we got confirmation of Robin’s role in the DC Cinematic Universe, there was some other, non-Robin news. Good weekend!
