Our First Look at the New Movie Superman
James Gunn posted this picture online today to reveal our first official look at the new movie Superman, played by actor David Corenswet. I think it looks great! This image is going to be picked apart by the various vultures on the internet, and I’m one of them, to a degree! Only my picking apart is all praise. Looks great to me.
I’m looking forward to this new movie — which comes out on July 11 next year. I have nothing but complete and total faith in James Gunn and his moviemaking. He’s going to make an incredible film! And he’s going to hopefully spearhead and incredible new DC Cinematic Universe.
The suit looks good to me. It’s a bit on the dark side, but that’s fine. Honestly, I would definitely prefer this look over some bright, skintight spandex. The suit looks good, the colors are good, the symbol is good; he’s apparently wearing the red trunks, which I fully support. The cape attachment looks fine to me. Yeah, I’ve got no real complaints! Bring on the new movie!
And here’s a List of Six I did some time ago for everything I’d like to see in the new movie.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/20/24
Hello everyone! If you didn’t see my post earlier this week, I’m thinking of backing off a bit on writing so much for this blog. While I still love reading and writing about comics, I want to lighten up on the rigid schedule I’ve set for myself to get everything read and reviewed. There were a bunch of good comics this week, like more Nightwing and Superman, so I wanted to review them. But things may change going forward.
Comic Book of the Week is Wonder Woman #8 for just another phenomenal chapter to this gripping ongoing story! New storyline kicks off with style.
Meanwhile, I loved the Fallout TV show, I’m loving the X-Men cartoon and I’m very much enjoying Shogun. So all is well with me in TV land. I’m hoping to spend this weekend finally starting God of War: Ragnarok, which I got for free when I bought my Playstation 5. I expect that game to be a hoot!
Comic Reviews: Nightwing #300, Superman #13 and Wonder Woman #8.

My readership numbers have been going down lately. Is anybody actually reading and enjoying these reviews? I know I don’t have any particularly interesting insights, but I do enjoy talking about comics. Including ThunderCats and Transformers!
Comic Book of the Week is Action Comics #1064, kicking off an awesome new Superman story that was teased some time ago.
Meanwhile, I’m still recovering from Episode 5 of X-Men ’97. Holy heck this show is good! And i’ve started watching Fallout, which is awesome. We’re feasting good these days! In the video game world, a friend of mine got me onto Evil Genius 2, which is a fun base-builder. It’s a nice game to lose a couple hours to.
Comic Reviews: Action Comics #1064, ThunderCats #3 and Transformers #7.

I swear to god, you guys, if this cold lasts any bit longer I’m going to start smashing stuff! I’ve had a whole week of this thing just rooting itself in my sinuses for a wee bit of a pressure headache! Argh! Anyway, new comics still came out this week.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Superman #12 for a truly excellent climax to its ongoing story so far. Fun stuff all around!
Meanwhile, I watched the first two episodes of X-Men ’97 and they were exceptional! I had high hopes going in, and was blown away by the style, depth, faithfulness and just all around quality job from everyone involved. They took the concept and really used it to its fullest, even if a couple characters don’t sound all that great. I think they should have recast everybody. But maybe that’s just me.
Comic Reviews: Cobra Commander #3, Nightwing #112, Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver #2 and Superman #12.

James Gunn and DC Comics continue their attempts to build a new cinematic universe, and they just announced the casting of Supergirl this weekend. She’s going to show up in the Superman: Legacy movie, and then get her own film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
It’s Milly Alcock from the Game of Thrones prequel!
I have yet to watch House of the Dragon, so I can’t speak for Alcock’s acting or character presence. But I have the utmost faith in Gunn pulling off this movie and this whole universe. Should be a lot of fun.
Meanwhile, I still need to read the actual comic, Woman of Tomorrow. I read the first few issues when they came out, but then I fell off. I bought the tpb and just haven’t gotten to it yet. I have some time before the movie comes out, right?
