6 Thoughts on Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Like the coming of the tide and the dawning of the sun, another Star Wars movie is upon us! Unlike last year’s Rogue One spin-off, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is part of the main franchise! It’s Episode VIII! That’s pretty cool, right? That means this movie is super important and cool!
Movie Rating: 7/10 – Good.
I liked The Last Jedi, but I wasn’t blown away. I don’t consider it the best Star Wars movie since Empire Strikes Back. I think The Last Jedi was a fun and resounding adventure film, with plenty of cool Star Wars stuff, but nothing really beyond that. It’s the sort of movie you super enjoy while watching, but once you start thinking about it, there was a lot wrong with the movie. I know a lot of these complaints have been making the rounds all over the Internet, but now you can read my take on them!

Honestly? I like the Ewoks
I will defend Ewoks until my final breath. In fact, I already did it once two years ago when The Force Awakens came out. But hey, here’s the Honest Trailer about Return of the Jedi!
I went and saw Star Wars: The Last Jedi last night and I liked it well enough. I liked it to the degree that I like all modern Star Wars movies. It’s fun and energetic, with a lot to love. But…I have complaints, and nitpicks, and stuff that just knocks the movie down a couple notches for me. I’ll share all of those next Wednesday in my List of Six review! So stay tuned.

I Don’t Care for Porgs
I don’t care for Porgs. I don’t get the hype. I mean, to some extent, I can understand the hype. Porgs are obviously super cute. But surely we all realize that they were manufactured that way, right? Like, Star Wars didn’t need a super cute race of tiny aliens for The Last Jedi.
Disney manufactured a super cute, hugely marketable nonsense creature for the sole purpose of suckering people into liking them unconditionally.
They’re like Furbies. No, they’re worse than Furbies. They’re Funzos.
Remember Funzos? Has The Simpsons taught us nothing?
If you’re into these Porg things, by all means, more power to you. I hope they have a meaningful contribution to The Last Jedi. But just on their own, as clearly manufactured nothings that serve no purpose and are probably just Minions rip-offs, I can’t believe how popular they seem.
And this is coming from a guy who likes the Ewoks.

Why Not Enjoy a Cool, New, Sudden Star Wars Trailer?!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi dropped a new, quick little trailer and it’s pretty cool!
I think I liked this trailer best of all for The Last Jedi. It’s impactful and has some really cool material. Maybe we’ll all enjoy this movie after all!
Also, I don’t like Porgs.

Also, I have little interest in ancient lightsabers showing up in the new movie. I want Rey to build her own lightsaber and I want it to be yellow!
