How Has This Awesome Star Wars Anime Not Existed Until Now?
There’s probably been other Star Wars anime stuff before, but this fan-made epic battle between TIE fighters and X-wings is phenomenal!
My favorite part is that it seems to be drawn from the point of view of the TIE fighter pilots, a sorely underused Star Wars group, in my opinion. Now I really want to see a show about these badass space banditos. Who flies for the Empire? What’s it like in the cockpit of a TIE fighter? The possibilities are endless!
The original video was made by a guy named Otaking, and I’d like you, but it seems the original video was taken down from Youtube. What a shame.
Full Lincoln Trailer My Collapse Under the Weight of Its Own Prestige
I know Lincoln is going to be a prestigious movie, but hot damn that trailer seems to think it’s going to be the most prestigious movie ever made! I’m starting to wonder if Lincoln is going to drown in its prestige.
It was an alright trailer. Nothing special, nothing too amazing about it. The trailer didn’t give me goosebumps or get me very excited for the movie. Hopefully it’ll be a good flick.
More Wreck-It Ralph!
Nothing much new in this new trailer, but it’s still pretty fun. Here’s hoping Wreck-It Ralph does for video game movies what The Incredibles did for superhero movies!
My 6 Childhood Heroes
I love being a child of the 80s. And consider this said with rose-colored glasses, but we had some awesome cartoons growing up. Granted, now as an adult I know they were all glorified toy commercials, but they were just amazing when I was a kid! Transformers, G.I. Joe, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! There’s just no denying that my generation had it made.
And considering my life now, with the nerd blog, a love of comics and an action figure collection, I think it’s safe to say those early cartoons and TV shows definitely started me down this road of geekery.
So let’s play everyone’s favorite game from those old shows and ask: who’s your favorite? You all know you have a favorite. Who’s your favorite Thundercat? Who’s your favorite G.I. Joe? And the big one: who’s your favorite Ninja Turtle? Join me after the jump to see my answers to those life-defining questions from my childhood, and find out who my favorite pop culture heroes were when I was a little kid – and I’d love to hear yours in the comments.
Everybody Loves Abraham Lincoln
This isn’t particularly geeky, but I think Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln is the movie I’m most looking forward to at the end of the year.
There’s just something so prestigious about Daniel Day-Lewis and Steven Spielberg making an Abraham Lincoln biopic. Is there any American historical figure more beloved or more awe-inspiring than Abraham Lincoln? Even though there was that time he suspended Habeas Corpus. Still, he’s much much cooler than George Washington, by far.
