Our First Look at the New Movie Superman
James Gunn posted this picture online today to reveal our first official look at the new movie Superman, played by actor David Corenswet. I think it looks great! This image is going to be picked apart by the various vultures on the internet, and I’m one of them, to a degree! Only my picking apart is all praise. Looks great to me.
I’m looking forward to this new movie — which comes out on July 11 next year. I have nothing but complete and total faith in James Gunn and his moviemaking. He’s going to make an incredible film! And he’s going to hopefully spearhead and incredible new DC Cinematic Universe.
The suit looks good to me. It’s a bit on the dark side, but that’s fine. Honestly, I would definitely prefer this look over some bright, skintight spandex. The suit looks good, the colors are good, the symbol is good; he’s apparently wearing the red trunks, which I fully support. The cape attachment looks fine to me. Yeah, I’ve got no real complaints! Bring on the new movie!
And here’s a List of Six I did some time ago for everything I’d like to see in the new movie.

New Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer Does Not Disappoint!
Deadpool & Wolverine is, probably, the most highly anticipated movie of the year. It’s the only Marvel Studios movie this year, and caps off the much beloved and praised Deadpool trilogy. It’s got everything going for it, and, thankfully, looks awesome to boot!
That was great! Still not much revealed in terms of story or what’s going on, but there’s so much beautiful Deadpool & Wolverine action and humor! Loved the melodic “Like a Prayer” soundtrack. Loved the humor. Loved seeing Wolverine in costume with his arms bare. Loved the MCU Easter Eggs. This thing looks awesome!
Deadpool & Wolverine comes to theaters on July 26!

There Have Been Far More Mechagodzilla Than I Ever Knew
It’s Tell It Animated time! And this time around he’s doing Mechagodzilla. Everybody loves a good kaiju. And I had no idea Mechagodzilla made so many appearances out there in this wide pop culture world.
That is one detailed, fancy-looking giant robot. The animator really went to extremes to get this guy done for this video! Kudos all around! And next video is the 50th! I doubt he’ll take my suggestion to do Robin. But who would be worthy for a 50th video? Maybe an update on every video he’s done so far? Or an update on his first video, whoever that was. My legit guess would be…Link! But we’ll see.
Also today is supposed to see the release of a new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, so check back later! I’ll get that up as soon as I see it posted.

Animated Transfomers Origin Movie Incoming
So, huh. I have been vaguely aware of Transformers One for some time now, but I had no idea it was going to be this: an animated origin story that leans into every possible trope imaginable, while trying to tap into the same magic of TMNT: Mutant Mayhem. See for yourself.
The tropes are unending. Enemies started out as best friends in lowly jobs. They’ve got the comic relief character and the girl character to round out the squad. A-list actors brought in to do voice actor work. Man, this trailer has it all! The humor is maybe funny. The action and animation look fine. The exploration of Transformers lore feels forced. And it doesn’t help that the big screen Transformers franchise is all over the place these days. So I’m just not sure what this movie is trying to accomplish.
But I guess we’ll find out when Transformers One comes to theaters on Sept. 20.

Apparently I’ve Been Sleeping on This Abigail Trailer
I’m not a big horror movie guy. They’re just not my thing. So I don’t rush out to watch every new horror movie trailer that comes out, like I do superhero movie trailers. But I went to see Civil War this weekend — great movie! — and saw the trailer for Abigail for the first time. It looks like a lot of fun!
No spoilers from me, but be aware that this trailer will spoil the twist of the film, so don’t watch if you want to go in completely blind.
I love attitudes like the one in the trailer. Make it seem like the movie is on thing, then throw in a crazy twist! Then have the characters react to the twist with some real, almost fourth-wall breaking disbelief. The movie probably then turns into a pretty normal horror movie, but the trailer looks fun as hell! I might actually go to the theater to watch this one. We’ll see what I’m doing that weekend.
Abigail comes to theaters on April 19…which is this weekend! Oh okay.
