How Suicide Squad Should Have Ended, Plus Other Jokes
Aw man, poor How It Should Have Ended guys. They have a couple of really good jokes about Suicide Squad, but their actual alternate ending is a little light. Instead, they go for the tried and true method of falling back on their own running gags.
It also looks like they’re going to start telling a story with their running gags? I dunno, man. The jokes are fine, but I’m here to watch funny alternate endings! I was never particularly a fan of their Batman/Superman diner segments, or tying every single superhero property back to those diner segments. They’re just not as funny. But I bet they’ve got tons of fans, and I suppose they’ve got to protect and emphasize their brand, so here we are.
Still, lots more to make fun of about Suicide Squad…

6 Things I Want to See in the Power Rangers Movie
The first trailer for the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers movie dropped over weekend, giving us our first real look at just what this movie is going to be about. We’ve seen the costumes, the posters and the villain, but now we know that the Power Rangers movie is going heavy on the super serious, angsty teenagers angle. This is a pretty far departure from the original lighthearted, campy TV show, but I say bring it on!
I was a huge fan of the Power Rangers when I was a kid, watching it every afternoon when I got home from school. I didn’t care that the episodes were silly. I didn’t care that every single episode followed the same exact formula. I was hooked! I owned plenty of toys! And that nostalgia is lodged deep in my geeky soul. I don’t care if this movie is probably going to be a train wreck, you better believe I’m going to have my ticket for opening night!
And since I’m such an opinionated fellow, join me after the jump for six things I want from the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers movie!
Billy Dee Williams’ Two-Face to Live On in LEGO Form!
I just discovered this fun little Easter Egg from the upcoming LEGO Batman Movie in a gallery of Batman LEGO images from New York Comic-Con and I thought I’d share: Apparently, the Two-Face character in The LEGO Batman Movie might be a Billy Dee Williams version! How else do you explain this very obvious looking LEGO figurine?
It’s not mentioned on Williams’ IMDB page, and I haven’t really been able to find anything through Google, other than some other people wondering the same thing. But just look at that mini-fig and tell me that’s not Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent!
As we all know, Williams played Harvey Dent in the 1989 Batman movie, with plans to eventually turn him into Two-Face. But by the time Hollywood got around to including Two-Face in the franchise, they switched out Williams for Tommy Lee Jones! Williams was robbed! I don’t think we’ve ever seen a black Two-Face. And this race change would have been decades ahead of its time!
Leave it to the people behind the LEGO movies to come up with the ultimate Easter Egg.

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers the Movie Channels The Breakfast Club
The first trailer for the upcoming Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers movie landed at Comic-Con over the weekend, and I think I’m pretty pleased with the result. Seems like they’re really going to push the ‘teenagers with attitude’ thing with an extended Breakfast Club-esque origin.
It’s really serious and gritty, and I can understand that some people won’t like that. But honestly? I’m open to new experiences and interpretations. Power Rangers has pretty much been one thing for its entire lifetime, and the Mighty Morphin’ era is long in the past. I was a huge fan when I was a kid, so I’m definitely looking forward to this movie, and I’m excited for what they bring to the table. Let them try something new.
Camp is dead and should remain dead. Maybe someday it will come roaring back for some horrible reason, but it is not this day. So let’s give the super serious, kinda gritty Power Rangers a try. Consider me on board, if just to see what it’s like!

New Pirates Movie Coming Out, World Continues to Spin
I wonder if Disney is wincing at all after this past summer’s horrible reaction to remakes, reboots and sequels. Despite all the signs from this year, they’re still forging ahead with a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. It’s a big, lumbering beast of a franchise that shows no signs of coming to a merciful end.
Dare you watch the first teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales?
That’s Javier Bardem’s Captain Salazar as some kind of freaky zombie with a freaky zombie crew. Pretty sure we’ve seen dead captains and zombie crews before.
Anyway, I’m not the first person to point this out, but what the heck is Disney doing? This franchise should have ended a long time ago. And Disney keeps doubling down on the worst part. The first Pirates movie was not a huge success because of the zombie pirate crew, it was the personable characters. But Disney just keeps doubling down on crazy science fiction insanity. Does anybody even remember the last movie? Something with mermaids?
