My 6 Favorite LGBTQ+ Comic Book Characters

Last Friday was a great day for America and for equality everywhere! I’m a big fan of the stuff. The Supreme Court in the U.S. struck down bans on gay marriage across the country! It’s a pretty great time for freedom. So I’ve decided to use my List of Six to celebrate gay, lesbian and all LGBTQ+ characters in comics!

One of the most beautiful moments in comics in the past 10 years

It’s hard to believe that, only 10 or 20 years ago, this kind of open sexuality would have been verboten. Northstar, the first openly gay comic book character (I think), came out of the closet within my lifetime. But now there are a lot of characters like this, openly gay and openly beloved by comic book fans. So I’ve decided to run down the list of my six favorite LGBTQ+ characters in comics! Join me after the jump!

6 Things I’m Doing While Being Unable to Play Batman: Arkham Knight

Welp, it can’t be helped. I am not playing Batman: Arkham Knight today. The game hit stores and Steam only yesterday, and surely millions of you fair readers are playing right now. But not me. Not Sean Ian Mills. Not the Henchman-4-Hire. I…I have no excuse! Unless you count money as an excuse. That counts, right?

This should be me right now!

I love the Arkham games. When Arkham City was released while I was on vacation, I bought it while still on vacation and played it at my friend’s house! The List of Six I wrote on Easter Eggs in Arkham City almost single-handedly kept this blog afloat with page views through the early years! But now I’ve got nothing. I don’t own a Playstation 4, I don’t own an X-Box One, and I wasn’t able to afford all of the expensive computer upgrades in time.

I’m not playing Batman: Arkham Knight this week. So you might be asking, what the heck else could I possibly be doing? Join me after the jump to find out!

6 Things I Want to See on the Supergirl TV Show

I’m excited for the new Supergirl show. Honestly, at this point, I’ll probably be excited for any new superhero show! We’re living in a day and age when superhero shows are amazing. Did you see Daredevil?! So even though Supergirl (or Superman, for that matter), has never been one of my favorite comic book characters, I’m definitely going to watch when her show debuts on CBS in October.

Not like I have anything better to do

And like most superhero TV shows or movies, I have some suggestions. For reasons that I don’t quite understand, Hollywood has yet to hire me to run any of these superhero shows or bring Multiple Man to the small screen. I just don’t get it. But that’s not going to stop me from putting together a wish list for Supergirl. Join me after the jump to find out what I want from the upcoming show!

Feel free to share your own hopes, dreams and fears about Supergirl in the comments.

6 Reasons Why You Should Back Gamer Girl & Vixen

Gamer Girl & Vixen is going to print! My Kickstarter hit its goal late last week, and we’re going to publish the first two issues of my own comic book series! I couldn’t be more thrilled and excited to finally start living my dream of writing comics. And Gamer Girl & Vixen is only the beginning. I’ve got a lot of big ideas!

But today, we’re right in the middle of the final week of our campaign, and I want to convince you Henchies why it’s a good idea to pre-order your copies of Gamer Girl & Vixen!

This Gamer Girl & Vixen, right here!

The comic is getting great reviews, we’re going to print a ton of extra issues, and our prices are so low you’d think we were going out of business! I’m not looking to get rich or rob anybody blind. I just want to write comics, and I would be beyond thrilled if my blog readers got to read my comic!

So join me after the jump for six reasons why you should pre-order Gamer Girl & Vixen! And my eternal thanks to those of you who already have!

6 Things I Want From the All-New, All-Different Marvel Universe

I have always been a Marvel Zombie and I’m proud to admit it. Spider-Man and the X-Men got me into comics in the 90s, and the publisher has simply always been better than DC Comics, as far as I’m concerned. The characters are better, the themes are stronger and, especially in the past few years, Marvel has been putting out better comics.

So you’d think I’d be a little more freaked out by the apparent Marvel Universe reboot coming our way this fall.

Looks about the same

But I’m not freaked out at all. Personally, I don’t really think it’s going to be a reboot. I think Marvel is using Secret Wars to do a little garden-tending, and the Marvel Universe will look pretty much the same on the other side. But even if it’s not, I’ve been through enough alleged ‘major changes’ in comic books that I’ll weather this one just the same. As long as Marvel keeps putting out good comics, I’ll keep reading.

Though I do have a few suggestions for the New MU…
