6 Star Wars Characters Who Deserve Their Own Movie
No sooner did Disney announce that they’re definitely planning to make some Star Wars spin-off films than we’ve already got unconfirmed rumors that these movies would be about Yoda, Han Solo or Boba Fett. This means that along with the planned trilogy of Episodes 7, 8 and 9, we’re also going to get some stand alone movies starring specific characters. Seeing as how I’m a big Star Wars fan, this sounds like good news to me.
And being such a big Star Wars fan, I’ve got a few ideas of my own. The great thing about the Star Wars universe is that it’s so full of different and unique characters. Sure Luke Skywalker is the big hero and saved the day, but there are so many other fun characters who deserve the spotlight for once. So here are 6 Star Wars characters that I think should get their own movie. And I’d love to hear some of your ideas in the comments.
6 Cancelled Superhero Video Games That You Will Never Get to Play
Ask any comic book fan what they want in a superhero video game and the answer is simple: a perfect, mind-blowing adaptation that gets all the details right and whispers sweet nothings in our ear. I don’t see why that’s so hard. Sometimes we luck out and somebody makes Batman: Arkham City. But more often than not, we have to wade through the likes of Iron Man and X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal or every single Fantastic Four game ever made.
Well I’m here to break your hearts even more. I’ve searched the Internet and found six superhero video games that would have been awesome, but for one reason or another, ended up on the cutting room floor.

Some of these entries break my heart. I look at the gameplay footage I found and read about some of the ideas the developers had and I wish I could have played these games. Some are one of a kind. Some are so innovative you’ll be left wondering why were aren’t playing some variation already. Join me after the jump for 6 cancelled superhero games that we will never get to play.
The 6 Characters on My Random X-Force Team
Why is Marvel putting out two separate but incredibly similar X-Force comics these days? Alright, stupid question. The answer is to make more money, obviously. That’s why there are so many different X-Men titles. But from a creative standpoint, what the heck is Marvel thinking? I have read both Cable and X-Force and Uncanny X-Force, as well as various creator interviews, and it looks to me like the two books might as well be mirror images of one another. Both are about a random assortment of X-characters randomly banding together to fight a random threat. What happened to the days of yore, when the name ‘X-Force’ actually stood for something? When the title was used to tell new, off-kilter stories that were different from the normal X-Men?
Cable and X-Force is about Cable, Domino, Forge, Hope, Colossus and Dr. Nemesis battling the techno-organic virus. Uncanny X-Force is about Storm, Psylocke, Puck, Spiral and Fantomex battling a new designer drug, and possibly Bishop. If you don’t read comics regularly, then it’s possible that those two sentences don’t make a lick of sense. But even if you do read comics, it’s like the Marvel writers just threw darts at a wall of character names to decide who was going to appear in their version of X-Force.
And that sounds like an awesome game! So being the creative guy that I am, I’ve decided to play it as well. If Marvel suddenly decides to give me the reigns to create my own random X-Force team – let’s call it ‘X-Treme X-Force’ – then these are the 6 characters I would use.
6 Random Things to Make Into New Pokemon
As of this writing, there are 649 pokemon. That means several artists and game designers sat down and thought up 649 individual little critters to put into all the Pokemon games, having to make them all unique and interesting in their own right. And with the new Pokemon X and Pokemon Y coming out this Fall, that means there are another 100+ pokemon still to be announced to fill those games. How do they do it? How do they design so many different pokemon?
The answer is easy: they cheat!
If you look over your standard Pokedex, you’ll see that Pokemon games are filled with normal animals that have been given a weird, cartoony twist. There are cows, snakes, giraffes, turtles, pigs, bats, monkeys, scorpions, camels and more. And the designers didn’t stop at animals. There are also a lot of inanimate object pokemon. There are gears, magnets, ice cream cones, balloons and chandeliers. There is even a pokemon that is just a giant, sentient, bag of garbage!
So for the new games, I’ve decided to help Nintendo out in the creative department. I’ve looked over all 649 pokemon and have found some holes that need to be filled. Here are my six suggestions for what they can use to make the next pokemon!
My 6 Favorite X-Women
A new, all-girl cast of X-Men was announced earlier this week, but for some odd reason, Marvel has decided to focus on their most famous and popular X-Women. What’s up with that? Storm, Rogue, Psylocke, Shadowcat? Big names, sure, but do people really like those characters? You know what, they probably do. A lot. I guess that just makes me the odd man out, because almost none of those characters are among my favorite X-Women.
Longtime readers of my blog will know that I have pretty obscure tastes when it comes to comic book heroes. I think Batman and Spider-Man are awesome, sure, as much as the next person, but my real favorite superheroes are guys like Multiple Man and Mimic, so obscure that they barely appear in the movies and cartoons. This comes from reading a random assortment of comics during my formative years, picking up a few issues or a few series here and there and really narrowing in on the characters in those books. So while characters like Storm and Rogue may get top billing, I am far more interested in these 6 X-heroines.
