The first LEGO Movie 2 Trailer Has Landed!

Here is the real trailer I wanted to share today! The first trailer/look at The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part! And it looks great!

The first The LEGO Movie was a true masterpiece, as far as I’m concerned. That movie reached me in ways most movies and entertainment don’t anymore. The LEGO Movie touched me.

So I am very, very excited for the sequel! The movie looks nifty. The Mad Max-style stuff looks great, and it appears we’re going into outer space to meet another sub-brand of LEGO! Should be fun.

It’ll hit theaters in February 2019!

The New Trailer for Wreck-It Ralph 2 Kind of Wrecks My Interest in the Film

I’m still going to see Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 opening weekend. There’s no doubt or hesitation. But the new trailer released today kind of…I dunno…annoyed me?

See for yourself:

So yeah, the only search result for a website that is “really intense” and “super nuts” is Disney’s own website? And then the trailer just becomes Ralph and Vanellope hanging out with Disney characters and making really obvious Disney Princess jokes?

Does the movie Wreck-It Ralph not exist in this universe? All these Disney characters can exist on the Internet, but but Wreck-It Ralph doesn’t exist as a movie?

I dunno. The trailer just bugged me. It was all self-referential Disney nonsense.

And I get the joke poking fun at itself for the movie name…but it still went with the wrong movie name. “Break the Internet” is not a famous enough phrase to not use “Ralph Wrecks the Internet”, no matter how “kewl” the blue lady was designed to be.

Only Leigh Watches Star Wars Movies!

I went and saw Solo: A Star Wars Story last night and it was pretty fun. The world didn’t need a Han Solo origin story, but it’s here anyway, and it’s entertaining. It’s basically your standard heist flick, complete with close calls, double crosses and clever twists. Then it’s flavored with all the fun Star Wars stuff, like spaceships, blasters, droids and Chewbacca. Honestly, Chewbacca should be all you need.

Internet favorite Only Leigh also has some thoughts on watching a Star Wars movie!

Like all of us, she is trapped in the endless deluge of new Star Wars movies. Just yesterday they finally announced the Boba Fett movie (which I actually want to see). None of us will live to see the final Star Wars movie.

Think about that. If there is ever a true final Star Wars movie, the planet Earth will be populated by an entirely new population of people than what exists right now.

Freddy Krueger has a Neat History!

Want to see the visual history of horror icon Freddy Krueger animated with awesome skill? Of course you do!

Hats off to the good folks/dude at Tell It Animated! Much like Jason, I never watched any Nightmare on Elm Street movies as a kid. In fact, I don’t think I’ve gone back to watch any of them either. I did watch the new reboot…but didn’t care for it. Still, these videos rule.

Those Maniacs! They Blew it Up! My Disney Animated Dream is Dead!

My dream of an Expanded Disney Cartoon Universe is dead. Probably.

I had such high hopes. And it made so much sense in my mind. The dream was a crystal clear vision of a bunch of interlocking Disney cartoon shows from my youth, a vast tapestry of fan favorite characters and shows intermingling in the new DuckTales to all our glorious benefit.

In today’s age of epic cartoon mythologies and reveals, I thought for sure the creative minds behind DuckTales were really going to do what they were teasing.

But no. They’re not. The Expanded Disney Cartoon Universe is dead before it even began.

They have squandered Darkwing Dark. And I’m sure that’s only the beginning.

Darkwing Ruined 01

Definitely the terror that flaps in the night

That is a screenshot from last Friday’s new episode of DuckTales. Darkwing had been promised for the show and anticipation was high. Friday’s episode was the promised introduction of Gizmoduck, a personal favorite, and the episode was fine (not really, I didn’t care for it). But nobody expected the episode to kick-off with an extended sequence of Darkwing Duck taking on some of his classic foes, Crackerjack, Megavolt and Liquidator!

Join me after the jump for why the arrival of Darkwing Duck in the new DuckTales cartoon has killed the dream.
