More SDCC Trailers Give Us Doctor Who and a Really Bad Ninja Turtles
I am just one man, blogging, while also at my day job. There’s a very good chance I won’t get to everything that comes out this weekend from San Diego Comic-Con. But I can post a new trailer like anybody’s business! And these are a bunch that arrived last night!
First up, a proper teaser trailer for the new season of Doctor Who, starring Jodie Whittaker. I like this much better than the quickie we got earlier in the week. We get some actual Doctor in this one, some real personality.
Next up is a story trailer for the Spider-Man game coming to Playstation 4 on Sept. 7. Now that I actually own a Playtation 4, I’m actually very excited about this game. So any new look at what we’re going to get is exciting.
Even if it still runs the risk of being a bad game. We’ll see.
Another trailer we got is a look at the return of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I quite enjoyed that cartoon, and I guess enough fans did as well that Disney is bringing it back for another batch of brand new episodes!
Anything that gives us more Ahsoka Tano is good news to me! Even if the ultimate Ahsoka/Darth Vader showdown already exists.
Finally, we got another look at that new Ninja Turtles cartoon, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This first look also provides a couple minutes of actual episode. And I can honestly say I won’t be having anything to do with this show. It looks terrible.
That’s not to say I’m one of those bitter fans complaining about how this new show is killing my childhood. Not at all. I’m simply recognizing that this show is not meant for me, and therefore I won’t take part. The animation, the comedy, the entire style of the show is just not for me. But I wish everybody involved the best of luck and I hope their take on the Turtles is successful.
Be sure to keep returning to my blog today as I dutifully attempt to upload all of the trailers and news that I either can or care about.

Do Not Watch This New Only Leigh Cartoon, Unless…
In fact, don’t read anything I write about this Only Leigh cartoon unless you’re completely caught up on The Good Place TV show on NBC, starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson.
Only watch this Only Leigh cartoon if you have already watched both seasons of The Good Place and maybe Avengers: Infinity War. Only those people who have watched both should watch this cartoon.
And if you haven’t seen The Good Place, go watch it now. Trust me, it’s totally worth the watch and you do not want any spoilers. Then once you’ve watched it, you can come back here and enjoy this delightful video.
Honestly, I’m a little surprised. The normally impeccable Only Leigh, of whom I am a huge fan, didn’t need to go spoiling The Good Place like this. I’m all for sharing in the awesomeness of The Good Place, but that big twist is possibly the biggest, greatest twist in modern television, up there with the Red Wedding on Game of Thrones. All for just a bunch of OK Tony Stark jokes? Don’t get me wrong, it’s of the usual high Only Leigh quality, but that twist spoiler has got to be breaking some sort of unwritten rule.

Oh Hey, Check Out Matt Groening’s New Cartoon, Disenchantment
The first teaser for Disenchantment came out a couple weeks ago, but I’ve been holding on to it for a slow day like today. It’s the new cartoon from Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening, this time tackling a fantasy sword & sorcery setting. Looks like fun so far.
Disenchantment is coming to Netflix on Aug. 17.
I’m surprised Groening hasn’t had more shows over the years…though I suppose he’s rich enough that he doesn’t need to keep making shows. But considering the staying power of the Simpsons, and the popularity of Futurama, you’d think there’d be more.
Here’s hoping Disenchantment is as good as those shows!

LEGO Voltron is Everything I’ve Ever Wanted From This Sad, Stupid World
The day I’ve been waiting nearly two years for has arrived: LEGO Voltron stands revealed! The massive, multi-lion LEGO set will be available to purchase on Aug. 1 for about $180.
Oh man, I’ve been salivating over this. It’s a work of freakin’ art! I was a big Voltron fan as a kid, and I’m a big fan of the current revival on Netflix. I had all of the Voltron lion action figures as a kid. They were such fun toys.
Now Voltron is coming in LEGO form, in a giant model that stands over a foot tall! And you’ll be making each individual lion, with the ability to combine them into Voltron later. That is genius and awesome and life isn’t supposed to be this much fun.
Check out more pictures and information on the LEGO website.

The individual lions look a little small
If you can recall, Voltron was one of the LEGO Ideas products, which lets fans build their own models and submit them for selection. It’s the same way we got Doctor Who LEGO and Ghostbusters LEGO. I love that this thing exists and I love that it’s given us Voltron.
Granted, we don’t get the Paladins as mini-figs, which is disappointing. But I can live with that sort of disappointment.
I might have to take the day off from work. Or the week…
