Watch the First Episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks for Free!

Far be it for me to offer free publicity to CBS and the Star Trek franchise; I just want to share this awesome new show with you people. A lot of shows, or at least cartoons, nowadays are putting their first episode for free on YouTube. I think that’s a great marketing tactic! Because who here is actually subscribed to CBS All Access?

Anyway, Star Trek: Lower Decks is a great show so far and I think you should all give it a try!

I think it’s a funny show. Rapid delivering, dry, grounded humor, fun characters, a lot of great Star Trek lore baked deep into the show. It’s good stuff! And it’s free to watch! At least the first episode is…

More Aggretsuko!

The global pandemic’s stranglehold on the entertainment industry is not so terrifying because we’ve still got TV and streaming! In fact, Netflix will be releasing the third season of the awesome Aggretsuko cartoon at the end of the month, on Aug. 27! So at least we’ve got that to look forward to.

I very much enjoy this cartoon and highly recommend it. Aggretsuko takes the cheerful, kid-friendly vibe of Hello Kitty and transforms it into a workplace comedy with a touch of anarchistic glee.

It’s about a young woman named Retsuko who struggles to make it in life as a single 20-something woman with a crummy office job. Her one respite from reality is her love of hardcore death metal karaoke!

Rick and Morty Gets Weird and Cool Again

Rick and Morty is obviously a great show. And they’ve got a great marketing team behind them, because they’ve produced a second weird and awesome anime standalone short. They did the first one a couple months ago, and now they’re back!

This is some really great marketing, as far as I’m concerned. It’s weird, it’s awesome, it’s insanely creative and it’s completely unique. And that’s exactly what one expects from Rick and Morty!

Tell It Animated is Back with Iron Man!

It’s been a couple months since we last saw the Tell It Animated guy with his fun videos — and that’s because he apparently spent 500 hours doing this massive Iron Man rundown! Hells yeah!

Another fantastic job! The attention to detail is as great as always, the humor is fun; this guy is doing good stuff. He’s a champion for going through all of those armors.

Who has he got left to do? There’s plenty of Avengers left. Thor and Daredevil had appearances on that live action Incredible Hulk TV show back in the day, so there’s a place to start that’s more than just their modern appearances. Black Widow had a bunch of costume changes across her movies, though he’s probably saving that one for when the Black Widow movie actually comes out. He hasn’t done Wolverine yet.

Lot’s of options to keep this dude busy!

How About Some of Them There Comic-Con Trailers!

This past weekend was Comic-Con @ Home, and I guess it went fine. Obviously it wasn’t full of the normally epic reveals and trailers we get when the world isn’t on fire, but there was plenty of good stuff revealed. And since I was lazy and didn’t post it already, I’m just going to lump a bunch of cool trailers together!

First up is Bill & Ted: Face the Music. I’ve been wary about this film…but this trailer is so much fun it won me over!

That was some solid Bill & Ted energy! The movie is coming Video-on-Demand on Sept. 4, so that’s pretty cool. Most movies are being pushed back to a theatrical release next year, but it’ll be nice to have some movies at all this year.

Next up is Truth Seekers, a ghost-hunting parody show starring Nick Frost that’s coming to Amazon.

Seems pretty fun. This was heralded as the return of Nick Frost and Simon Pegg working together, but Pegg is barely in the trailer. Still, I’ll check this out for Frost and the concept alone.

Lastly is a trailer for the third season of Infinity Train. Don’t watch this if you wan’t already seen seasons 1 and 2! Infinity Train is a special little show, and it’s coming to HBO Max, where hopefully more people can see it!

Looks damn cool! Season 3 comes out on Aug. 13.
