Fan Fiction Dragon Ball Z
This video from College Humour has been floating around for awhile now, so it was only a matter of time before we posted it here. You will be amazed.
Axe Cop for President!
Another hilarious Axe Cop animated short to remind us that the series will debut on July 27! Rejoice and enjoy!
Nick Offerman is the perfect Axe Cop. Best. Casting. Ever. I still can’t believe that Axe Cop is really going to be a cartoon. It seems impossible that the universe would be this giving. But we shall see in July! And if you haven’t yet, check out the Axe Cop comic to see what all the fuss is about.
A Star Wars/Disney Corporate Retreat
So apparently Yahoo is doing sketch comedy nowadays? Who knew! Their SketchY group put together this awesome cartoon.
Some of the jokes are silly and easy, but then I doubt Yahoo really wants to push the envelope too much. Kudos to them for trying.
Superman Unbinds…and I Guess Brainiac is in There Too
The next DC Animated movie has been announced and it’s another Superman film. And they’ve given it another name that has absolutely nothing to do with the content. It’s called Superman: Unbound, and it’s going to adapt Geoff’ Johns’ Brainiac revamp from a few years ago.
But really? Superman: Unbound? What does that name have to do with anything? Why not just call it Superman: Brainiac or something that actually has to do with the movie? DC’s marketing people need to be dragged out into the street and shot.
Matt Bomer is going to voice Superman. I know him best as Bryce from Chuck, but he also stars in that show White Collar. Will he make a good Superman? Let’s hope so. John Noble, of Fringe, will be Brainiac, with Stana Katic as Lois Lane and Molly Quinn as Supergirl. You can learn more in this TV Guide article.
I never read the Geoff Johns’ story, but he had some neat ideas for Brainiac, as well as a great new visual. It looks like they’re going to carry that look into this movie. So I have hope that the adaptation will be interesting. I just really, really hate the name.
Thunder and Lightning and Amethyst!
The DC Nation animation block is back, and with it come the adorable mini short cartoons. One of them is a cartoon about Thunder and Lightning, the children of superhero Black Lightning. It’s pretty neat…but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a good copy. Still, it’s a lazy Sunday, and I wanted to share it with you guys, so here’s a crummy copy that somebody filmed on their TV! You can thank me later.
Or thank me never. Your choice.
In better news, the clip for Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld is even better! I love the video game aspects of this cartoon. Fun way to portray Gemworld.
You can definitely thank me for that one.
