Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is Just Doing All Of It

A live action Sonic the Hedgehog movie is a surefire franchise now. Multiple movies, an upcoming spin-off TV show; Hollywood has grabbed the meager success of the first movie and they’re running with it into pure madness. Despite this success, they hired a pretty terrible trailer-making company.

That movie trailer stank. It was all over the place, full of nonsense, and not particularly catchy. But then I don’t imagine the movie is going to be all that special. It does feature a live action Knuckles voiced by Idris Elba, though, so I’m torn. Will my obscure love for this random — and awesome! — video game character carry me through this sequel? We’ll find out soon enough!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 comes to theaters on April 8!

The Boys Are Coming Back to Town!

That’s how those lyrics go, right? Anyway, I’m back from my trip, my sister had a lovely wedding, and now I have to go back to work. Ugh. But before that, let’s enjoy the first teaser trailer for the third season of The Boys!

Loved the comic, love this show, and The Boys only promises to get crazier and more fun as we go forward. This is a great trailer, showing just some major insanity without the need for even a shred of dialogue. Perfect!

Also, I still need to watch Diabolical…

Season 3 of The Boys arrives on June 3!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 3/12/22

Happy Wedding, everybody! If you’re reading this on the day of release, my sister is getting married today and I’m out celebrating and being a good big brother. Thankfully, I had enough time before I had to leave to read and review some comics, like Batgirls, Strange Academy and more!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Superman: Son of Kal-El #9. This crossover with Nightwing has been the best thing this new Superman has done so far in this series, and I only wish that magic could remain.

Nightwings

Meanwhile, I broke down and bought Horizon Forbidden West, even though I won’t have time to play it until after I get back from my trip. I guess I just wanted to spend that money. I also started the TV show Reacher, which is pretty fun and simple so far. I’ll finish that when I get home as well.

Comic Reviews: Batgirls #4, Mighty Morphin #17, Superman: Son of Kal-El #9, Strange Academy #17 and Thor #23.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent Looks So Fun!

I’m as much a fan of Nicholas Cage as the next person, so his upcoming new movie looks pretty funny. Why not take all the Nicholas Cage memes and reputation and turn that into an actual movie? And with a title like The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, it couldn’t look more perfect.

Funny, weird and zany, this looks great! Can’t wait! Also, Pedro Pascal is a busy man these days. Is he making up for the fact that he’s wearing a helmet all the time in his most famous and popular role? Maybe.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent comes to theaters on April 22.

Our First Look at the Obi-Wan Kenobi Show Looks Great!

I’ll admit that I’m not very hyped for the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV show. I think Ewan McGregor is great and it’s cool that he’s returned…but I dunno. I’ve never been a big fan of Obi-Wan, especially not from the original trilogy. And The Book of Boba Fett was pretty lackluster.

But this first teaser trailer does look pretty darn great!

I like the feel of the trailer, that’s for sure. It feels dark and cool, and a little bit hopeless. I’ve never been big into the Inquisitors, so they don’t interest me much. But all that talk of hunting Jedi sounds pretty cool. And I’m thrilled that Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse are coming back as Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, it’ll be interesting to see what they do. And, like I said, Ewan McGregor will be great!

Here’s hoping Jar Jar Binks makes a surprise appearance at some point! Obi-Wan Kenobi arrives on Disney+ on May 26.
